bigger and bigger again... recently added a disk drive page, not hd's mind you, also been opening up some of the old comps and taking pics of their cpu's so that page has grown too.
and to my surprice, my c64 didn't actually have the common mos 6510 cpu but the newer 8500r3 in it  ::| funny thing also, the 8500 is from 85 while the c64 is made in 84 hm... and no the cpu hasn't been changed.

oh and the site is now almost 40mb big, i've been at it for awhile :P

They probably produced heaps of mainboards in '84, CPUs in '85, and put them together later?

Or where could you read production dates?

does anyone have any idea on how to put a "search engine" on the site itself, not google even if that would be the easiest answer it would just not look good.

also where to put it when it comes to that.

If you don't want to rely on external services, you may have to program your own ... but depending on the amount of keywords you want to make searchable, it may not even be too hard. With a little AJAX you might even provide an instant list of early partial matches.

I can tell tales about the "error tolerant phonetic indexing" one I programmed for 12angebote.de, still slow as hell since we still did not have the time to switch to PHP 5 features...
