im giving up...
ever since 5.0 came out, things have been getting worse and worse, with every update somthing i dont even notice gets added, but lag gets worse, with every update crashing is getting increased, with every update i freaze more and more. im just done
becuase on top of all of this, the people who are SUPPOSED to fix things like this, have been making updates for diffrent art files..
seriously WTF
and even worse, from some event i dont really know what happened, i heard somthing happened between talad and xillix, some devs quit, which is not going to help the problems...
im taking a break from this game, i tried to put up with it getting worse and worse, hoping for the best, but nothing is happening, im taking a month off...
so long people, i'll see you whenever......
i'll check forum,, but you wont see me in-game anytime soon...

5.0 came out? ... We are not even at 0.6 yet...

We will keep working on updates (although we are bound to the development done by the CrystalSpace team as well).

You don't forget to try to delete the "shadercache" when crashes get too frequent after art updates (but at most once a month).

One thing I am afraid of: When you are less in game - are you then even more in the forum?

I heard that your computer is too old maybe you should consider upgrading your hardwares

a complete rework of the quest system, all monsters being refactored, moved or replaced by new ones, mounts everywhere, ... - nothing of that is noticable for you? sorry... but what are you doing ingame? logging in at the waterwheel, looking around and saying "boring, nothing changed" to yourself?

how is art related to engine crashes? I just don't see the connection...
many issues are highly hardware dependent and are hard to or not at all recognizable by testers.
the open testing period got approximately NO feedback at all (there were about 5 participants I recall)... issues are fixed as fast as possible, however they have to be properly reported, first.


anyway, if you're that frustrated right now, taking a break for a month or two might be a good idea. calming down a bit about current issues and cheering up in case of updates which fix those might help you to enjoy the game, again

Really?  The lag pretty much everyone I talk to is experiencing hasn't been reported?   
And the lag I'm experiencing now wasn't present during the ezpc testing period.  And I just got a high(ish) end vid card last year.

Of course I know the devs are doing all they can but I can understand where Earowo is coming from.

I appreciate your frustrations Earowo... despite the 'helpful' suggestions offered above.

When I was in lagland last summer (before I broke down, got a new laptop and went broke for a few months) I would just park myself in Kada El's or at the table at Harns or at the Stonehead, and just talk to people as they walked by, rping that Roled was 'writing in his journal'. If you're a hunter and dueler that probably won't be satisfying but it's an idea...

And the forum frustration I share too. We talk about it all the time here, the kind of cynical negativity, flame wars, put downs, etc. I sometimes feel like I'm a one man 'happy' show, but that's how I try anyway to balance the negative crap. Xiosia's into balance you know, and RR is into Xiosia!

Lol guess that's what I'm on right now. A vacation.

It's not that I hate the game or anything. All the bugs prevent a lot of my friends from coming on, and I haven't played for so long, heh, roleplaying is starting to not interest me anymore.

I'm trying to get back into the swing of it, but I think I need a new character now that Tin's sorta stuck in the DR XD

And I don't mean Suati, I lover her and all, but I need to start from scratch to find my roleplaying roots stay tuned for a new char!
