Have you considered doing events where the player is put under the spotlight ?

For example:

Comedy night - give players who sign up and audition in advance a chance to do some standup comedy. Obviously the signing up and auditioning would be just as much a part of the rp.

Yeah, well the Den tried that... There aren't that many Comedians in hydlaa. However, if you get Marqsaynt back around he could probably write it all himself and someone else deliver... Goodness knows he can crack people up.

A roast - get someone up there amd give a select goup os ps comedians a change to hurl an insult at them.

For that matter, a swinger's night. Come with a date and leave with someone else. Return in the morning to get your partner back. Smirk and giggle about the experience.
- a lot could be rp'd here... Some characters might take offence or feel awkward.
It could be turned down a notch if that's a little too spicy.

Perhaps do something with the hydlaa draw if euras is still into it ?

Perhaps think about what sort of things they do in popular bars and try to adapt it to the game.

XD one, the Stonehead is not a bar, it's more a family friendly restaurant kind of deal. TWo, if I for some reason I had doubted your were a guy Rig, this proves conclusively you are... A wet t-shirt contest?!? 


@Bajazag: Oh it's not that easy to misbehave. Illy runs a tight ship and guard get a handbook outlining what they can and can't do.

bars are family-friendly til 10 pm actually. if you're under 18, you get kicked out the pub then. maybe the stonehead would do better with this sort of schedule.

Also, for a family friendly establishment, perhaps a puppet show for those that want to dust off their child characters? 

Or....
Story night, possibly a weekly/monthly thing, with different themes each time.
Pet show, if that many animals would be allowed in the SH.
Drop-in class on some skill, perhaps.
Marketplace, maybe the usual, or maybe for roleplay goods (like a craft show or something)
Drink n' draw, for the grownups (a bunch of artists get together, get drunk, and draw things)

Yeah, but the hours in game-time are so short, it can take an "hour" just to write a few minutes worth of actions, and in a game where they tell us time stands still, as it's always the same year. So really, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to say an hour passes in Yliakum every ten minutes in real life or whatever the rate is.

No matter how long Candy takes to type, an hour ingame will only ever fit ten minutes of action. And that's optimal.

Roled's typist is as bad at telling time as RR himself apparently. I messed up! My humble apologies to the the players from 'east' of me timezones, I put a 02:00 Xiosia and @ 03:30 GMT Illysia welcome back party times on the Hydlaa bulletin board on SATURDAY not thinking about my Saturday night is your SUNDAY morning. Please pardon my inability to read the three world clocks I consulted when making that post.

So for north/ south Americans Saturday night, that's TONIGHT, and for Europeans and farther easterners SUNDAY MORNING there is a welcome back party for Illysia at the Stonehead, just after a Xiosia dance and revelry at the Garden.
