I agree with Neko. It would be like telling all cab drivers "Listen, we need more planes flying... Could you meet at the airport at 8 tomorrow and pilot one to France?" Doesn't go well. (No offense to cab drivers, pilots or France in general ;) ).

a friend of mine once said that cab drivers in India would make insanely awesome fighter pilots. :)

anyway so sort of animation for crafting skills would be nice too, hammering on the anvil, or stirring a pot, poking the coals in a furnace. while you are working with those things, would be nice.

/idle  Makes person do idle movement...Also give us an option to turn ours off...Looks odd when I'm in a serious conversation and I randomly scratch my head every few seconds  ::|

 Yes, definitely! Best suggestion so far!

"/idle off" + "/idle <min. seconds between>"
__

@ Sarras:

Probably yes - if I learned grammar right, I believe: if you rest, you "lie down"; but you "lay down" someone or something else, not your own body.

Please no animated emots for the text box; it draws away from the RP and creativity of writing expressions/actions for the characters.

As a side note I would rather see time and effort go toward artwork/programming for additional clothing [ie cloaks, bracers, variety of dress/shirts/pants if the character is not wearing armor] and more skills [hide in shadows, alchemy, etc.]

Bracers are already in PlaneShift art files, they just need quests written for their implementation, or NPC sellers. (arm bracers). Cloaks are complicated as has been already mentioned. Skills are a whole different ballpark, requiring complex scripting and formula and little art input at all. What is apparent by Talad's post is that there is an animator available to work on the skeletal animations, and so they are working on adding animations.

At /slapbutt and all that, seriously, hell no. Just no.

@ Geoni:

But you noticed that Talad asked for the most serious examples?  ::) -- Annoy the staff and you will be punished by delays.  :-X

I like using emotes, and in my opinion those lacking movement the most are:
/nod (/agree having the same gesture)
/laugh (head rising and torso bending back, perhaps?)
/drink  (/cheer same gesture?) as previously proposed

obviously all the emotes will be great improvement, but I think those are a more affordable task.

how about that swimming gesture? a complicated task, isn't it?  :P

What is annoying is an opinion. Some of my suggestions may have been loony. Some weren't.

I'll just say the ones I think are important are:

/cross arms
/hands on hips [along with the /cross arms, this is for people who are bored, tired, assertive, have attitude, and many other qualities.]
/wink [lovers, friends, playful people, many do it.]
and /lay ears back [can't tell you how many enki's I've seen do this]

Those are actually things that I see RP'd alot, so they should be considered for implementation.

and /lay ears back [can't tell you how many enki's I've seen do this]

This. Ears are quite expressive for anything feline-looking. Perhaps there should be a set, for example:

/ears back
/ears twitch (a brief version of the next one)
/ears swivel (ears swivel to the sides, maybe one ear swivels towards whatever's targeted)
/ears perk (and/or a /perk command in general)

I second Candy's suggestion. Of course, if we can control ears, we should be able to express with tails as well.
