Marsuveus' Saga (Hunting the House)
« on: June 07, 2010, 11:58:33 pm »
Okay, first of all, sorry to everyone who's been waiting for me to place Marsuveus' antics into story form, rather than the forehead-gratingly boring logs :P
So anyway, here's the story from the Robbery Gone Awry, as well as the continuation of the story as far as it's developed so far (still not done :)]

Robbery Gone Awry---

A relatively quiet day in Kada-El's tavern took a plummeting turn for the worst as Marsuveus Dastro, a dark, tattooed Ynwnn selected his next victim....Kauwela   Marsuveus waited until Kauwela had entered the tavern, feigning a drunken stupor to allay any suspicion. Marsuveus managed to piece together a slurred sentence, offering Kauwela a beer, which the kind girl gladly accepted...She remained unaware even as Marsuveus turned to order the drinks from Allelia, deftly pouring the contents of a small black vial into the mug, then offering it to Kauwela with a feigned drunken smile.  "Why thank you," Kauwela replied, taking several large gulps of the drink.  Very soon, the drug which Marsuveus had slipped into the drink began to take effect, and Kauwela's senses began dulling as she began to loose her balance.  Marsuveus smiled at Allelia, ushering Kauwela quietly upstairs, to have her collapse unconscious on the floor, the drug haven taken it's final toll on her.  Marsuveus quickly began emptying Kauwela's pockets, relieving her of her bracelets and necklaces.  When Kauwela awoke from her drunken slumber, Marsuves took advantage of her semi-conscious state, forcing her to her feet with a falchion against her throat.  Marsuveus pressed his ear against the door, listening for any noises outside before slowly opening the door.  "Make a sound, and I'll cut your throat," he snarled, pressing the blade across her throat as he walked her downstairs in  front of him.

Standign on the second floor of the tavern are Geoni (a kran), Xifer, Esorono, and Sacho. Esorono and Xifer immediately recognized Marsuveus from his prior assaults on them, and Xifer lit his fist on fire, advancing on Marsuveus steadily.  Sacho offered Marsuveus a handful of tria in exchange for Kauwela's life, but Marsuveus ignore the good Enki's offers, and the other's protests.  Eyeing for any escape routes, but finding none, Marsuves slashed down across Kauwela's shoulder, inflicting a deep gash that gushed blood as she fell on the tavern floor.  Marsuveus pushed Kauwela at the group, and raced upstairs to hide in a room.  While Geoni, Sacho, and Xifer called downstairs for Scipion, a kind Ylian medic, Xifer rushed upstairs after Marsuveus. Scipion worked calmly, but quickly, rushing to save Kauwela's life as Xifer kicked in the door, confronting Marsuveus.  Marsuveus quickly stabbed out at Xifer, managing to graze his face, as Xifer lit a flaming dagger, throwing it deftly at Marsuveus' chest.  Marsuveus twisted quickly, but was unable to avoid the dagger, which impaled his shoulder as it dissolved in a burst of flames in his flesh.  Marsuveus quickly stabbed at Xifer's shoulder, twisting the blade swiftly at the last moment, aiming down at Xifer's exposed side.  Xifer yelled out in pain, collapsing onto the ground in a pool of blood as his blade slashed out at Marsuveus' fleeing form.  Scipion, finishing healing Kauwela's deep gash, raced upstairs to try and save Xifer's life.  As Scipion worked to staunch the bleeding and seal up the gash, Xifer's body spasmed, his eyes flashing dark black as his body seemingly sealed his wounds up of it's own accord...

Limping slightly from his wound, Marsuveus slammed into Esorono, sending his body back from the top of the stairs as he raced down towards an exit.  At this moment, a Xacha named Vilthis Trayus, Lord of the House of Trayus, drew a crossbow fluidly, sending a well-aimed bolt into Marsuveus' exposed leg as he tumbled down the stairs.  Unfortunately, Marsuveus managed to limp towards the exit, jumping down from the awning, breaking his left leg on his impact.  Marsuveus frantically tried to escape in the sewers, but Vilthis and a fellow guildmate, Zjok managed to pursue Marsuveus and capture him with a binding spell cast by Vilthis.  In a last attempt to escape capture, Marsuveus dropped a small glass vial in his mouth, containing a deadly poison, the glass shattering in his grip as the liquid began it's deadly work.  Vilthis rushed forward, seeing Marsuveus' intent, and immediately cast a Dark Way Weakness spell, based on prior experience casting Dark Way spells on Marsuveus, and watched as the spell immediately began to heal Marsuveus' body, the poison exiting his body as his many wounds began to heal also. Vilthis knocked Marsuveus out with a swift psychic blow to the head, and began to tie the limp body to Zjok's drifter.  The two brought Marsuveus back to their guild headquarters in the winch area, securing Marsuveus in the dungeon to await interrogation.

Over the next week, Marsuveus was subject to unspeakable horrors in his interrogation by Vilthis, to the point of having his right hand cauterized off, and his smallest left finger being ripped off...Until Eelin Everheart, a councillour in the House of Trayus, managed to persuade Vilthis into releasing Marsuveus, seeing as their interrogation was going nowhere....Vilthis reluctantly agreed, assigning Zjok to follow Marsuveus' movements as best he could.  Unfortunately, Marsuveus had more evil, dark intentions in mind, and sought to ditch his follower as soon as he could.

Marsuveus vowed revenge on the House of Trayus, and began searching for any of it's members he could find to extract his awful revenge upon. His first victim was a Councillour, named Jaqjaq...Marsuveus tricked Jaqjaq into accompanying him to the magic shop, under the guise that a package was waiting for him in the name of another guildmate, Scipion...Jaqjaq belived Marsuveus, and followed him willingly, not knowing he was travelling into a terrible trap.  Upstairs in the shop, Marsuveus drew his long, black falchion, and quickly lunged at Jaqjaq, his blde missing, but the powerful kick aimed at his victim's kneecap finding it's mark with a solid 'crack!'  Jaqjaq pleaded to Marsuveus, claiming that he had no part in his torture, but Marsuveus was beyond mercy.  He forced Jaqaq to place his left hand on the table, and immediately swung down with his blade, intending to sever the hand from the wrist, but Jaqjaq's quick reaction prevented the blade from finding it's mark, instead taking off the outermost part of three fingers.  As Jaqjaq collapsed to the ground, unconscious, Marsuveus raced off, his wicked laugh echoing as he ran.

His next vicim was a kind, unsuspecting Enki named Enetade.  Marsuveus managed to trick him with the exact same ruse as before, the unsuspecting Enki travelling from Harn's to the magic shop, only to be tricked and set upon by Marsuveus in the upstairs of the shop.  Marsuveus kicked the Enki into a corner, planting his knee onto Enetade's chest as he held the Enki's left arm in his grasp.  Ignoring Enetade's pleas of being a noncombatant, and having no knowledge of his torture, Marsuveus swung his blade at the limb, slicing clean into the Ennki's left paw, leaving it dangling by only a small thread of muscle and skin.  The enki screamed in pain as Marsuveus again left his victim bleeding on the ground, laughing in cruel delight.

His last victim was Twayn, another member in the House of Trayus.  This time, Marsuvues raced up to his victim, panting as he stammered out that a fellow member of Twayn's guild was lying wounded in the back of Levrus' shop... Out of natural caring instinct, Twayn raced off, following Marsuveus' lead as they sprinted to the shop.  However, in the back of the shop, Twayn became confused, not seeing any guildmate as he turns to Marsuveus with an inquistive look, only to find himself looking down the Ynwnn's black blade.  Marsuveus lined his blade up with Twayn's ear, ignoring the victim's fervent pleas for mercy as he swung the blade down at Twayn's ear, severing it completely from his head.

Marsuveus waits now, biding his time as he patiently stalks the rest of the House, savouring each of his victim's pain and misery as revenge for his own torture at the hands of his captors, and anyone involved in his capture...

Those of you who know Marsuveus, or who took part in his capture.......Beware......he is coming...

{And DONE!!! :D This brings you fully up-to-date with Marsuveus' doings...thanks to everyone who commented on my last post, and reminded me that incredibly loooooong chat logs as probably not the best way to tell a story :D]
{I appreciate any feedback or criticism you guys wanna lob at me : \\o//]

This was overall a good type out. Hope the people that wanted it turned into a story form are happy you did it.

Anyways, there are just a few typos here and there, and there is one flaw that I caught when reading this and reviewing my logs: Sacho didn't offer Marsuveus a sack of tria, he held out a hand full of circles and offered it to him. Also, Geoni didn't really know about Marsuveus's "prior assualts on Esorono and Xifer". Kra was unsuspecting of what was about to happen. That is all I noticed different from my point of view. Good job on the write-up though.

Thanks for the feedback!  You're completely right about the circles...i forgot to double-check there, so thanks!! And when i was referring to the "prior asssaults" i mean that Xifer and Eso had recognized him, not the nice, unsuspecting Kran :)

Nice condensation of the logs Caraick. I don't mind reading logs when I have the time, but I find this story form more enjoyable to read as well as easier to understand what is happening, so, thanks for that. I'm looking forward to discovering the reasons behind Marsuveus' evil attentions seemingly having been turned toward the DOX guild members with his recent attacks and kidnappings.

I just found out today who kidnapped Sluuph!  :P

Well, I was at least half right... it was Marsuveus who failed with the attempted kidnapping of Dannae.
