I've quit Planeshift for a while now and I am back, remembering this good game.
So,,,
Are you still in Beta?
Are the new players on the new server or still on the fragnetics one?
Is PS still heavily roleplaying-based?
Is the Battle NPC Server still on? Can we battle NPCs on Fragnetics?
Is Planeshift Xfire Supported?

Hi and welcome back!
I've been here 2+ years and there's lots of new things I am enjoying. We have a long form, player led multi plot rp going on, open to anyone who wants to get their character involved in any of the four plots. We are creating incitiing actions then the players take it from there. There are several new areas: the newest is the huge new Dsar Kore in Ojaveda. There are mounts, new quests, several long term Guilds {like mine, the Knowledge Seekers, plug, plug}, lots of newer Guilds and some Guild revivals happening.

I'm not a techie so I can't respond to your tech questions. My experience is the new server Skylab and the newest iteration 5.4 is much less laggy for me, the graphics are better, and the mechanics, for me, are working very well.

So from someone who is still very much enjoying this game and the community, again, welcome back.

Welcome back to Planeshift, you probably won't have a clue who I am, because I have only been playing for about a year and a half, but it is great to see you coming back!
About what Roled said, yes there has been a lot of change with the guild side of the community, defiantly a lot of newer guilds out now.
