Voice Chat

Everyone knows Voice Chat>Typing. It's more role-playing, you can hear emotions, etc. Will it ever be implemented?

if you can understand well the language and you are native speaker but also there might have trouble with different accents... plus also if you don't multitask...

There's the issue of players who play characters with drastically different voices...+how do you denote actions (/me, /my, emote commands) in such a system?

Having played another "large MMORPG" game for a number of years, and participated in large group activities that involved a significant amount of player co-ordination, I have found a voice chat system to be invaluable.

The game previously played did not have this feature built in and a third party program fitted our needs well.  It can be a bit distracting a first, and does change the player dynamics somewhat, but has its definite advantages over keyboard based communications in certain siuations.

Given the current content and game dynamics of PS, I don't see the need for this kind of system at this stage.  However, as the game further expands, and if the need for large co-ordinated "raids" is implemented, the ability to have a stable ingame chat systems that works within the GUI would be a valuable addition.

just my 2 Trias.

You would hear the player cheering for enjoying a great player to player interaction, laughing, behind the curtain - while you are actually meant to hear a character breathing hard in, say, a dramatic dark situation.
Now how would that add?

There are reasons for why oldbies left.

If we have voice chat, we will have to suffer with the crackly voices of countless teenage boys.

Voice chat can't be censored in the same way text chat can be. I for one don't want some immature 14yo making an account, then start swearing at everyone he encounters. I have no problem with explicit language. Just it's overuse. But I imagine that quite a few people would be offended by this.

Are you all serious!
There is nothing wrong about voice chat, I have heard it in many other games such as Oblivion (not an MMORPG) but it worked very very well, the character never ever says a word just the NPC and it was very useful if you were 8 and could not read :P

You need to think about these things before just saying no it is no good. Accents are not a big issue I can easily understand almost any accent other than Asian hehe. But then again I am an English speaker. But then Accents should not be in the voice it will should be the character's accent or voice.

I don't think that talking player to player should have a voice chat.
You maybe roleplaying but you could still be OOC.

Are we supposed to act out our characters voice or something like that?

My computer is in the living room, it could turn out to be embarrassing to try and voice out a kran, or a female child all day. Especially when you have plenty of guests in your house.
