Riddle me this... Riddle me that...

Who's the one wearing the big green hat?

My questions are many, my traps are plenty...

Surviving them would be blasphemy...

In the light, behind the shadows...

Follow the streets white arrows...

Playing hide and seek, ain't it awkward?

Reveal yourself, Dark Knight, step forward
...I am waiting...

It is almost as meaningless as asking anyone for their favourite anything.  Adding to the relevance of the object itself there is a small revelation about the person that has picked the citation out of a great universe.

Interesting quote.

I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

Treat me like a prisoner,
Treat me like a fool.
Treat me like a loser,
Use me as a tool.
Face me 'til I'm hungry,
Push me in the cold.
Treat me like a criminal,
Just a shadow on the wall!

Treat me like I'm evil,
Freeze me 'til I'm cold.
Beat me 'til I'm feeble,
Grab me 'til I'm old.
Fry me 'til I'm tired,
Push me 'til I fall.
Treat me like a criminal,
Just a shadow on the wall!

Mean guy: "The boy's a useless vegetable!" Prompter in a cellar window yells a comeback out into the street: "You could never be a vegetable, because even artichokes have hearts!" Somebody uses this comeback, everybody bursts into tumultuous guffaws.  ::|

I think it's from Amelie.

It is by definition impossible to have several favourites, but I have a couple that are tied so closely I can't choose one from among them.

Firstly, an old saying I live my life by;
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

Second, a flavor text from a certain card game many of you will be familiar with;
"Of course you should fight fire with fire. You should fight /everything/ with fire!"
 - Jaiya Ballard, task mage

And finally a historical one, from the mouths of lady Nancy Astor and Winston Churchill;
Astor: "If I were your wife, I would poison your coffee."
Churchill: "If you were my wife, I'd most certainly drink it."

There's plenty of others, but these stick out the most at the moment.

"Die Menschen der tiefen Traurigkeit verraten sich, wenn sie glücklich sind: sie haben eine Art, das Glück zu fassen, wie als ob sie es erdrücken und ersticken möchten, aus Eifersucht – ach, sie wissen zu gut, daß es ihnen davonläuft!" (Nietzsche - Jenseits von Gut und Böse/279)

English translation:
"Men of profound sadness betray themselves when they are happy: they have a way of embracing happiness as if they wanted to crush and suffocate it, from jealousy: alas they know only too well that it will flee." (Nietzsche - beyond good and evil/279)

the next two favourites:
"To make a dream come true you need a dream to start with." and "There are no miracles in this world. There's only coincidence, the inevitable and the actions people take."
