*A small, slender Dermorian woman with bright, copper hair pins up a parchment notice as high as she can reach*Official Reopening AnnouncementThe Red Crystal Den, sponsored by the Octarchal Society for Progress, is under new management and is officially reopened for business. Stop by the Den and sample the widest selection of drinks in Hydlaa. The Den is the ideal place to hold parties, events and even business meetings. Come down today and see what’s happening in the Den. Also feel free to ask about jobs at the Den.
A Few new policies:
We no longer serve food in general. There is already a tavern in the area and we aren’t just another tavern. Come by for drinks but if you want an inn room or dinner you’ll have to stop by Kada-El’s.
No face, No Service, No Buts: Hoods that cover the face are a common fashion statement… not in the den. All customers are required to show their faces. If you can’t do that, kindly take your business elsewhere, we don’t need trouble.
Keep your weapons and magic to yourself: We like the look of the den and having customers. We intend to keep things that way so don’t go mucking things up for everybody. If we have too many more incidents, new policies will be formed and you will not like them.
No pets inside: The Den is a place to get a drink, not a petting zoo. Please leave your pets outside or do whatever it takes to keep them out of the Den.

[OOC: The Den is indeed back up and running for business.
A few things have changed from before but it’s basically the same Den. We do plan on having events like before, but in order to do that we need help in planning and implementing these. We plan on letting the Den be rougher than the taverns, however there are a few ground rules about that:
- No duels using mechanics… period. This is non negotiable.
- RP fights are allowed but nothing bigger than a bar brawl (i.e throwing punches)
- No using weapons in the Den! If your fists can’t back up your mouth, keep it shut.

- You can RP messing up the den a bit in the skirmishes but don’t make a habit of messing up the Den. Especially trying to wreck the whole place. It’s hard enough to run a player area without having to play maid every 5 mins. Be considerate.
- If a guard has to escort you out, cooperate. Yes you can resist a bit but don’t just blow off the guard. If your character becomes enough of a problem, you will get told OOCly to knock it off. Keep acting a fool and GMs will be called. You will be removed one way or another.
- Casting magic is not a loophole.
- Being drunk is not an excuse to act OOCly stupid, keep it within reason. OOC stupid is never funny and will not be tolerated.
- Like was said in the IC part, the Den isn't a petting zoo. Please keep all familiars, mounts or otherwise, out of the Den.
Ideally, the Den will be a place that everyone can hang out in, even ne’er do wells. But there are certain rules that everybody must follow. Number one,
it is still a building and business supervised by the Octarchy! Don't forget this, it is not totally anything goes in there. It is however, a more neutral ground, so "bad guys" can’t take down the good guys and the "good guys" can’t take down the bad guys. It’ll make for some great standoffs. The Den should be just rough enough to make the guards a little suspicious
but not rough enough to merit them doing an investigation. It’ll be a good place for enemies to keep an eye on each other. A good place for baddies to scheme and plot over a drink. But for Talad’s sake, don’t just talk normally and expect everybody to turn their ears off. The reason why some RPers use brackets in tells too is because you can use /tell to actually whisper in character.
/tell <player> /me whispers “<secret conversation>” is a very valid and useful command.
Keep things reasonable and settings compliant and we can all have a good time.
