LONG FORM: The Magician's Calling

This new thread is now meant to hold posts of reports and discussions of the Magician's Calling storyline. Please feel free to join in as this plot might erupt around you in game. I'm looking forward to your short first person summaries of role plays you experience IC.

Roled was seen posting a notice on the City Bulletin Board. It reads:

Members of the Custos! We are needed. Find me immediately.

[Mordaan]

A little event played out at the Stonehead the other night that is connected so...

First a little setup:
Present at the Stonehead was Elady along with a few customers: Zanuvar and Lilura along with a Xacha (if I remember correctly) woman seemingly new to the area, Eyuqtwarr.  For some unknown reason Mordaan was sitting on a rafter by the ceiling.

In walks a Ynnwn who seemed to be hurt...  (well Ynnwn in terms of char models...once again I didn't pay close enough attention to the descriptions.  ).

Sigice says: Hi...
Zanuvar says: hello
Sigice says: I need help.
Zanuvar says: how so?
Sigice holds on to his head.
Zanuvar says: how much do i own you elady?
Zanuvar says: owe*
Eyuqtwarr quickly finishes the pot roast, and the water shortly after. She looks up at the fenki in front of herself and tenses her neck, letting out a "oops" before adding "Sorry I ate like a messy yublar in front of you."
Elady says: All food and drink is always free here.
Sigice says: While I was training in the sewers some akkaio enki grabbed on to me and shoved a dagger with something on it into my arm.
Zanuvar says: tis fine you should see a menki eat, you eat rather proper
Lilura smiles 'thanks Elady'
Mordaan takes notice
Zanuvar arlarm crosses her face
>Zanuvar Deathunter stands up.
Zanuvar says: akkaido you say?
Sigice says: Yes.
Sigice says: It sounded like he wanted something from someone.
Sigice coughs.
Zanuvar says: thats not like him..
Zanuvar looks at lilura
Mordaan says: Ehm, one might want to distinguish Akkiado from Akkiao.
Mordaan says: [ugh, hope I'm spelling that right]
Sigice says: Akkaio is a type of enkidukai.
Eyuqtwarr lets out a short giggle and smiles "I tried to eat properly but I was so hungry..."
Sigice says: I'm getting tired.
Elady says: I can try and cast a purification spell that might help you sir.
>Sigice Towun takes a seat.
Sigice says: Thanks.
>Zanuvar Deathunter takes a seat.
Zanuvar says: well it was propper enough to me
Elady comse over to Sigice and holds her hands over him asn the Crystal energy starts to flow
Zanuvar sips from her water taking barly anything
Lilura picks up an emerald and starts to suck on it
Sigice doesn't seem to respond from the spell.
Eyuqtwarr lets out another sigh of relief as she looks around the tavern in disbelief that she didn't notice how many came in as she awaited food. She then looks back at Zanuvar, "Well, I'm glad I didn't get my family robe stained."
Mordaan frowns from above "i'm not sure it's working."
Zanuvar says: aye thats always good
Sigice drops on to the ground looking almost dead.
Elady says: I can try the cleansing spell
Elady does another spell quickly
Mordaan says: Hmm, he doesn't look good.
Eyuqtwarr hears a sucking sound and notices the kran seated at the same table also, she lets a "Oh, hey." burst out of her mouth , "I mean, hello gemma."
Sigice doesn't respond to the spell.
Lilura says: hullo miss
Elady says: Mordaan you you have any ideas?
Mordaan scratches his head
>Mordaan stands up.
Mordaan gracefully steps down from the rafter
Eyuqtwarr smiles to the kran, "Do you live in this town?"
Lilura shakes kra's head 'no'
Mordaan says: My crystal way is not nearly as strong, but maybe the two of us?
Elady says: We cah try I can alsu use healing flash
Elady says: Let's try.
Mordaan nods
Eyuqtwarr looks down, "Oh, I'm sorry..."

At this point Elady and Mordaan both begin casting crystal way spells in an attempt to heal Sigice

Sigice still doesn't seem to respond.
Lilura says: i use too but now i live in oja
Mordaan steps back, somewhat tired
Elady kneels draind of all magical energy.
>Elady Wanz takes a seat.
Mordaan says: Hmm, this seems very strong and specific.
Sigice's breathing stops.
Mordaan says: I think it is a poison.
Mordaan grows concerned
Elady says: Oh dear I think we are to late.
Eyuqtwarr turns around and asks Elady, "What is going on with that man?" A conscerned look on her face.
Mordaan looks around helpless
Mordaan says: I think he has been struck with a poison dagger.
Elady says: I believe he was poisoned
>Zanuvar Deathunter stands up.
Elady checks for any sign of life in Sigice's body.
Eyuqtwarr turns her face back towards the table and stares at it silently for a moment before mumbling "I hope that doesn't happen to me..."
Zanuvar says: how much do i owe you?
Mordaan says: I have heard of something like this before.
Sigice seems to have none.
Mordaan says: Is he...?
Elady says: This isn't good if Dakkru hasn't taken him by now.
Mordaan nods
Elady says: since he appears to be dead I see no sign of life.
Mordaan says: The poison may be simulating death.
Mordaan says: I have also heard of poisons that lead to perma death, because they do not allow your body to slip into the death realm.
Eyuqtwarr turns around and carefully steps out of the table, walking across the room with quivering legs. She halts before the sets of pillows, looking down at Sigice.
>Eyuqtwarr Mmzzghuay stands up.
Mordaan kneels down
>Mordaan takes a seat by Sigice Towun.
>Lilura Shegilk stands up.
Elady says: If this is a simulated death it is very good.
Eyuqtwarr stares down at his body for a moment and then stutters, "He's not d...dead, I think it is immob...immobilization."
Mordaan says: He doesn't appear to be breathing.
Mordaan leans in and has a listen
Lilura says: maybe his breath is just slowed almost to a stop so you cannot tell he is breathing?
Mordaan says: Could be.
Sigice seems to have no breathing at all.
Eyuqtwarr lets out a heavy sigh before proposing, "Perhaps something...is causing his lungs to fail."
Mordaan says: A potion of some sort maybe be of help, but I don't have any. Or even know of any that might help.
Sigice turns pale.
Mordaan says: Certainly this is beyond a simple healing potion.
Zanuvar says: i have not found anything
Elady says: I can't feel a pulse.
Mordaan says: Oh dear, this is not good at all.
Mordaan says: Any ideas?
Eyuqtwarr turns around, "If nothing can do, perhaps somebody should kill him." Eyuqtwarr huffs out a sigh," This suffering shouldn't go on.
Zanuvar says: let him be incase its a temporary poison
Eyuqtwarr says: ["This suffering shouldn't go on"*]
Zanuvar says: just put him in a safe comfortable poisiton and let him be and keep a eye on him, if its temporary he will come around and need attention then
Mordaan says: Both suggestions are valid ones. We don't want to wait too long. Not breathing isn't good no matter how temporary it is.
Eyuqtwarr turns around and mutters, "This is nothing like the works of any poison I have seen, nor any curse of the dark way. It is something more."
Mordaan says: The sewers? There's some working with some dark stuff down there.
Elady says: I know of poisons that cause perma death.
Mordaan says: The person responsible might have an antidote.
Eyuqtwarr says: Why? Such a death is not the way of dakkru!
Elady says: some people are pure evil.
Mordaan nods
Elady says: Sacho said somethign about going into the sewers.
Zanuvar says: Sacho!
Mordaan says: I think he wanted to talk with someone.
Elady says: He knows someone there who has helped with with some Alchemy projects he has worked on.
Zanuvar says: he was talking Ahrimen few days ago, soemthing sneeky and going in the sewers about a plan and something bad
Eyuqtwarr holds her fingers on her chin while shaking her head, "I'm not about to go in sewers, people shouldn't be going into sewers."
Mordaan says: Hmm, you think this is related?
Mordaan says: There was an Enki who attacked Roled recently.
Elady says: I think Sacho was going to see a Oralon or something like that.
Mordaan says: Yes, that was him.
Mordaan says: Maybe he's the one responsible for this.
Elady says: Is this Oralon a Menki?
Lilura says: yes
Mordaan says: That was my understanding.
Elady looks concerned " I hope this isn't who Sacho is seeking out for help"
Eyuqtwarr says nothing as she walks back over to the table she was seated at before, and carefully takes a seat.
>Eyuqtwarr Mmzzghuay takes a seat.
Mordaan says: I know he wanted to speak with him but nothing more. Not sure who he was seeking help from.
Mordaan stuffs a pillow under Sigice's neck
Sigice doesn't respond.
Mordaan says: I think all we can do is make him comfortable for now.
Elady starts to say a prayer to Xiosia
Eyuqtwarr notices Elady praying from the corner of her eyes and bows her head also, silently praying to Laanx.
>Lilura Shegilk concentrates in a prayer for Sigice Towun.
>Eyuqtwarr Mmzzghuay concentrates in a prayer for Sigice Towun.
Mordaan bows his head silently
Zanuvar bows her head and her tail stays still, and she was silent
Eyuqtwarr opens her eyes to look at fire, causing her to gasp for a moment. She then sighs as she realizes it is only the fireplace.
Elady finishes her prayer
Elady says: I think his fate is in the hands of the gods now.
Mordaan nods
Lilura nods
Mordaan says: I wish Dr. Forsith (sp?) was here.
Mordaan takes a close look "But I don't think anyone can help at this point."
Mordaan says: The guards will likely take his body to the well.
Elady says: If th esituation is hopeless we can take the body to the burial well.
>Mordaan stands up.
Eyuqtwarr turns her head back, and bravely proposes, "If we are to kill him I volunteer helping him make it through Dakkru's realm."
Mordaan appears slightly shaken "I have to admit, this is the first perma death I ever witnessed."
Elady says: I have seen one before.
Eyuqtwarr turns in her seat to have her legs outside of the table, she stares over at the lifeless body of Sigice and simply stares.
Zanuvar says: i have seen a few..
>Elady Wanz stands up.
Mordaan slowly walks over and has a seat
>Mordaan takes a seat.
Mordaan says: The culprit must pay!
Elady says: I think Dakku is not interested in thos one.
>Eyuqtwarr Mmzzghuay stands up.
>Eyuqtwarr Mmzzghuay takes a seat.
Zanuvar says: their long since gone
Elady says: Yes anyone who owuld do this needs to be tracked down
Lilura nods
>Mordaan nods at Elady Wanz.
Elady says: Atleast we have a lead.
Mordaan says: Yes
Mordaan says: I think this Oralon must be the prime suspect.
Mordaan says: Ugh, mind control, poisons that cause perma death... These guys are worse than Xeonart.
Lilura says: xeonart?
Elady says: It is Ahriman who uses the mind control potions.
Eyuqtwarr says: Perhaps he is simply charming?
Elady says: I'm not sure if he makes them or gets them from someone
Mordaan says: They are all working together, no?
Mordaan says: Xeonart was a Dermorian who was into some pretty dark stuff. It ended up making him deteriorate and die.
Mordaan says: Sought domination of Yliakum, that sort of madness.
Eyuqtwarr rubs her forehead and asks the people in the tavern, "So I'm guessing that Hydlaa isn't exactly the safe and peaceful place I was told it was?"
Zanuvar says: no
Zanuvar says: oja is safer then hydlaa right now
Eyuqtwarr says: But the temples, are they safe?!
Elady says: And Gug here is pretty safe.
Zanuvar says: they should be but how low these guys are hitting i dont trust it to be
Zanuvar says: they dont care about the temples they dont follow religion
Zanuvar says: oralon is in the works with Black flame if i remembe his words correctly
Eyuqtwarr lets out a sigh at the mentioning of another foreign word blows through her ears. "What is that? I've never heard of such flames."
Lilura looks to Eyuqtwarr 'id advise you to not go around asking that'
Mordaan says: Well I sense we haven't heard the last of this.
Eyuqtwarr tilts her head at Lilura and lets her eyes look around for a moment, "I don't even know what it meant....but if you advise..."
Mordaan says: Surely a battle of some sort is brewing.
Mordaan sighs, seeming tired
>Mordaan stands up.
Mordaan says: I'm going to head off.
>Lilura Shegilk waves at Mordaan
Lilura says: safe travels mordaan
Mordaan says: This was a sad night, sorry we all had to witness this.
Mordaan slowly walks off
Eyuqtwarr nods her head to Mordaan.

And so it was, the Ynnwn was permanently dead.

Halbor arrived at the stonehead not too long after...

Halbor Gagari greets Zanuvar Deathunter.
Zanuvar Deathunter greets Halbor Gagari.
Zanuvar says: hello
Zanuvar Deathunter stands up.
Eyuqtwarr looks over to the new arrival with droopy eyes and bows her head.
Halbor says: hello, how are you doing tonight?
Zanuvar says: not so well there was just a stabbing
Elady yawns
Zanuvar says: poison
Halbor says: what? here?
Elady says: I'm sorry It has been a long day for me.
Zanuvar says: yes
Zanuvar says: inside is the body
Lilura says: its alright Elady you must be tired from trying to help him
Elady Wanz greets Halbor Gagari.
Halbor Gagari greets Elady Wanz.
Zanuvar Deathunter takes a seat.
Halbor looks over at the diaboli "thats the victim?"
Elady nods
Eyuqtwarr looks down and mumbles to herself, "This is just...not what I expected to witness in the first town I come across."
Zanuvar Deathunter stands up.
Elady says: I am afraid I must leave you now. May the Goddess bless you and keep you safe.
Halbor takes a closer look "hmm i think i saw him in hydlaa earlier, how'd it happen?
Elady says: He said he was stabbed in the sewers.
Elady turns and slowly starts to walk out of the tavern.
Elady Wanz picked up a book
Lilura Shegilk waves at Elady Wanz
Halbor blinks "oh no....i passed by him near kada el's, he was sitting near the stairway, i didn't think to stop and see if he needed help...."
Halbor says: you say it was poison? that puts oralon at the top of the list of suspects then, followed by marsuveus and ahriman who've been encountered in the sewers before...
Lilura nods
Eyuqtwarr scoots closer to the fireplace, taking a slice out of one of the untaken Terevan Berry pies and eating it as she hugs her hands to her body.
Lilura says: he said it was a menki i think
Halbor says: oralon then, poisons are his thing
Lilura nods
Lilura says: evil little menki
Eyuqtwarr takes a few bites out of her slice of pie and tries her best to out the conversations of criminals in her destination. She stares into the fire with tired eyes.
Halbor says: did you determine what type of poison it was?
Lilura says: ive no idea how to
Halbor attempts to examine the body
Sigice is pale, cold, has no life signs with a dagger mark in his left arm.
Zanuvar turns without a word and walks away on silent paws passing through the door liek a shadow
Eyuqtwarr finishes her pie and turns to find that the body still lies in the corner of the tavern, she frowns, and takes another piece of pie to wait with.
Halbor says: i guess the obvious thing is the fact that he should have been taken to the death realm by now
Lilura nods
Eyuqtwarr says: Could somebody...get the body out of here?
Halbor says: i've only heard of true death but never seen it so i'm hesitant to say that this is true death, the poison may be such that gives the impression of death, i should probably get a sample of blood to someone with better alchemy skill than i
Eyuqtwarr clears her throat after taking another bite, "I have witnessed true death before, but it was simply old age."
Halbor says: well of course there's that, but true death by means of poison or magic is a different matter
Eyuqtwarr nods with a frown, and then takes another bite into the slice of pie.
Halbor walks over to the bar and finds a suitable container with a cork then goes back to the body
Halbor then takes out a knife and presses it along with the container up against the wound to squeeze out a blood sample
Sigice's blood comes out as a deep red color.
Eyuqtwarr sets the pie down on the table as she watches the blood squeeze out of the body.
Halbor corks the container we he thinks he has enough and turns to lilura "Sacho might be able to help figure out what poison was used, he...seemed to have been aquainted with oralon at one point, he might be able to confirm if it was oralon that did this"
Lilura says: good idea
Lilura says: i'll see if i can find someone to take care of the body
Halbor says: alright
Eyuqtwarr mumbles across the room, "I'm not going to get close to the body."
Lilura says: i dont really want to touch it
Eyuqtwarr says: I have my families robe on, and I can't get it stained.
Eyuqtwarr stares at the body again, letting out a sigh, "I would if I was wearing something else..."
Lady Peckerly says: Kikikkkirri!
Halbor says: it's not so much that i don't want to move it, i just don't know where else to put it, what if the guard needs to see it for evidence?
Lilura laughs 'maybe lady P can take care of him'
Gurgus steps in with a couple of workers.
Eyuqtwarr opens her eyes wide at the call of the kikiri, and then droops her eyes after the shocking moment, looking at Halbor to ask, "Well could you move him away from the pillows, I wanted to sleep there tonight."
Lilura Shegilk greets Gurgus Dahnik.
Halbor Gagari greets Gurgus Dahnik.
Eyuqtwarr nods politely to the kran.
Gurgus inspects the body and shakes his head.
Gurgus Dahnik says: This one will need to be taken to the burial well. He stinks of foulness.
Gurgus motions for the two workers to load up the body and roll him out of town.
Lilura nods 'im sure miss elady doesnt want him to smell up the tavern'
The two workers nod to Gurgus and grab the body by the feet and arms.
Sigice is lifted.
Gurgus Dahnik says: And when you get back, be sure to clean Elady's tavern best you can.
The two workers nod and carry the body to a barrow outside the Stonehead Tavern.
They roll him down the ramp, towards the howling well.
Lilura says: thank you gurgus
Gurgus Dahnik says: Will that suffice?
Lilura nods
Gurgus Dahnik says: And everyone else okay in here?
Eyuqtwarr nods to the kran.
Lilura says: im alright
Gurgus nods and returns to his post.
Halbor says: well, guess thats that then, thank you, we are fine, the diaboli was supposedly attacked in the hydlaa sewers and managed to make it here before the poison took him
Lilura Shegilk makes a bow.
Lady Peckerly says: Kikkiirrri!
Lady Peckerly ruffles her feathers, like a chill went through her body.
Eyuqtwarr stands up and walks over to the pillows, trying to keep her balance as she does so.
Eyuqtwarr Mmzzghuay stands up.
Lilura reaches over to pat lady peckerly on the head 'its ok lady P'
Eyuqtwarr looks down at all of the pillows and asks, "Which one was behind his neck?"
Lilura Shegilk raises an arm and points towards Ojaveda Brown Pillow.
Eyuqtwarr nods to the kran, "Well I'll make /sure/ not to touch that pillow.
Halbor says: gurgus asked the workers to clean up here when they finished moving the body, they'll take care of it
Lilura says: halbor do you have all you need to take to sacho?
Eyuqtwarr nods, "I'll just wait until they come back before sleeping," she says before walking over to the closest table and slowly taking a seat.
Eyuqtwarr Mmzzghuay takes a seat.
Eyuqtwarr leans her head onto the table and looks down at the kikiri smiling. "That's an entusiastic kikiri."
Halbor says: i think so, didn't seem to find anything else on the body for evidence
Lilura says: hmm i guess im going to head back to hydlaa and give the workers some room to clean then
Eyuqtwarr tries her best to sit up and keep a straight posture as she awaits the workers for cleanup.
Halbor says: yeah, same here plus it is getting late
Lilura Shegilk waves.
Eyuqtwarr looks at the two, "I guess I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this tavern for a while?"
Halbor Gagari waves at Lilura Shegilk
Halbor says: either that or go home, malco's pretty good at keeping the ulbers out of here
Lilura says: everything should be alright..there arent many robberies here in gug with malco standing guard
Eyuqtwarr says: I can't go home.
Halbor shrugs "ah well, take care then"
Eyuqtwarr bows her head to the two, "Be careful."

the next day Halbor finds Sacho on the second floor of Kada El's.

Halbor Gagari greets Sacho Awotoha.
Sacho nods to Halbor as he puts on a robe.
Halbor says: i was hoping to find you here, there's a matter i wanted to discuss with you

Sacho puts a cloth over his face. "I am in a bit of a hurry, but how can I help you?"
Halbor says: there was an incident last night, a diaboli male was apparently stabbed with a poisoned dagger in the sewers behind the tavern here, he later died at the stonehead tavern, it was true death...
Sacho nods. "I see. How is this of importance?"
Halbor says: before the poison took him, he claimed it was a menki that stabbed him, there's only one menki i know of thats been known to use poisons and known to frequent the sewers, but i'd like confirmation
Sacho nods. "I am on my way to visit him now. I will see what I can learn."
Halbor says: i got a sample of blood before gurgus had the body sent to the howling well
Sacho looks back. "You have a sample?"
Halbor holds out a vial of blood "i wanted you to see if you could find out what poison was used"
Sacho accepts the vial. "Thank you. I will do what I can."
Halbor nods "alright, then i'll let you back to your business, you know how to find me
