Hello all,
I am pretty new but from what I can tell Yliakum has no Medical Association or any thing like it. I think this could be a great addition to Yliakum and I think I could do a fairly good job at running it (given enough time to finish preparing), but I want to know if there is a large enough interest in it. Secondly I would like as many of the experianced Guild Owners/Major Participants to give me as much advise and ideas as they have to offer. Please don't post anything if you are not serious about this matter one way or the other (or seriously undecided for that matter I just don't want a bunch of junk is all). Allright well let the discussion begin.

I think it's a great idea, and you could find lots of help from the people who run the medical center by the Temple.

Add a "C" for corps inbetween 'Medical' and 'Association', and you can call yourselves the YMCA.

cenweard it sounds like a good idea to have a medical association. I know of someone RPing a Dr. Lesiros -he is a surgeon but he is in a guild already so i was thinking maybe rather than an official guild you could do like the SoX did and have it be an organization so that others who are in a guild can help out with it. Hi Cen~

Yeah this is a very good idea! As Lilura pointed out, for example, we've organized Sons of Xiosia as a religious society instead of a guild, to keep it open to any player whose character would worship Xiosia.
It would make sense for those interested in various healing modalities to participate, no matter what their guild. Or it could be a traditional guild, if you have some number of folks ready to rp it.

I would like more information on the people that you mentioned. "The ones that run the medical center by the Temple." I would appreciate it if you did the research on that.
I had debated about the idea of calling it a corp but decided against it because it sounded a bit Militaristic. However that was a cool idea about the YMCA

I will try and get in contact with Dr. Lesiros and get his help on the project. I am unsure of this idea of making it into something like the SoX because I don't have any background info on it. So I would like you to collect what information you can on it and present it to me in a clear concise format. Presenting to me both the pros and cons of taking your suggestion. Thanks in advance for that.
I looked at the link you posted and liked what I saw. If you find anything else like that please post it. It may prove to be useful.

All of the points you made are valid and something I will have to consider but in order to do so I will need more information on Structure ideas. I would be ecstatic if you would be willing to help lilura out on this issue.
Good idea about the "First Aid" classes. I think that would be an excellent Idea as part of the way of funding this Medical Association.

First off are you the good doctor yourself? If you are then I would really like it if you would start working on a "generic" Medical book full of your ideas on some of Yliakum's various medical issues (diseases, cures, and such). I already have read the one in the Sanatorium so don't worry about the stuff in it. If you aren't could you please make him aware of this thread.

Alright gang, we have a long road ahead of us but it should be one full of fun and adventure. That being said I want to tell you that nothing I have is set in stone. Please feel free to alter, change, chuck, add, etc... As you see fit.
I don't have much yet but I have been busy with RL stuff lately but this week I am free to work on it so you will probably see a lot of stuff from me for the next week.

I think that the idea is great with all of the chaos happening in the game, and all of the people getting hurt, we need healers more than ever. If people are looking out for their friends enough, then you will have a busy guild. I would join the guild since my main Geoni wants to help people, kra having some crystal way experience, and is out of a job. Though I am leaning between quitting the game, or not quitting the game.

To All,

Alright, it is Monday morning July the 19th of 2010 and I am ready to start a week of hard work on my end. Because I have the whole house to myself for the next week (until Saturday afternoon July the 24th of 2010) and seeing this is the case I have decided to pour my energies into the creation of the Yliakum Medical Association. Now this being said I do not wish to scare you guys into thinking that I will expect you to devote near the amount of time I will. On the contraire, I only desire the time YOU are willing to devote. Let me repeat myself. I only want the time that YOU WANT to help me work on this project.

Now all that being said it is time I explained some things.

First, I am, as I mentioned before, new. Not just to guild creation, or PlaneShift but to Role-playing as a whole. Let me clarify. I know how to Role-Play about as well as your average RPer but this is not due to an exposure to PS or some other MMORPG. Rather this is due to my years of playing with my younger brothers. Primarily with my middle brother.

(Side note.- If we could only find some way to record the images going thru his head my family would be billionaires off his stories. Literally the stories he comes up with range from Historically based stories to Fantasy to I don't know what all and if you watch just the one-sided interaction with the characters it is entertaining enough. But I digress.) {If you didn't understand that then you haven't met my brother}|

Anyways, my knowledge of RP is limited to those experiences which granted are vast in nature but are limiting when you think about it in perspective. Now this obviously means I am new to PS and guild creation (sorta) {I do have some experience leading the creation of these kinds of things.}

Now I am sure you are waiting for the point. Well the point is that I need a LIST of items I need to work on for the week. Currently my brain is drawing blanks as to what I need to work on. So I would appreciate it if someone or someone would draw up a list of things that need to get accomplished in order for this project to get off the ground. That would help a bunch.

I just meant:

a) To send Private Messages, you would need at least 10 posts. - Some people post spam just to get 10 posts to be allowed to send PMs. I hope you don't consider that. But you should be able to read PMs written by others to you. So I assume you got my last PM.

b) I believe Dr. Lesiros Forita has to appear during the late night in Europe, when you shall have a chance to meet him.

@LigH: It's not as much of being a coward as it is more about being busy, and being tired of the difficulties that come with playing this game these days.

@Cenweard: Thank you for the wishes, and I might not exactly QUIT, but I am definitely going to be slowing down these days. Though if something inspires me enough to get into the game more often and I have the time to, then I will. About the medical assosiation, ask around for some people who play medics. I know Dr. Lesiros Forita is one that is somewhat active still. I have a feeling Sacho knows much about the ways of healing and crystal way, and he's in game. Caira was a good medic/surgeon/healer/whatever she was, because she had a great deal of knowledge when it came to treating people who were sick or injured, though I don't see her in game anymore. Bideene was also a consistent surgeon, don't see him playing much anymore. I think that the character Scipion has some medical experience and I've seen him around recently. There are so many other characters who have performed surgeries of some sort on my various characters before, I'm just having trouble remembering who they all were. (Even though some of those people don't play anymore perhaps they will come back some day. I'm sure there are more like them that i never got to know in the past.)

Gathering medics together without the requirement of getting OOC about it is so difficult these days. It would help if there were something like a bulletin in game where you could post for help wanted so to speak.

Sorry I'm a bit scatterbrained right now, but I tried to recollect a few people that could join/help the guild or would have perhaps joined/helped the guild. I hope that you can find a good amount of people to help with the medics, and remember to study the herbology in game because that can help superbunches when it comes to making potions or treating ailments.

Anyhow, best of luck to you. I hope my messy advice can help.
