I totally agree with the OP.
I remember my most precious noob items becoming invisible in my inventory, and Tazen rushing to help me, and the problem was solved straight away.
I remember being logged into the lifeless world with no players and no npc's around. My first visit into the Death Realm was nowhere close to being that scary. And from the depths of that cruel place i cried out to Ingles for help, and he rescued me and brought me back to the world of the living. In a matter of minutes, if not seconds.
I remember being caught in an endless falling through a faulty sector in the sewers. Falling down, and down, and down, for half an hour... until Sarva came and had me repositioned.
And I remember being desperate and upset and frustrated about my first Winch access which I couldn't make for months, and more than one GM giving me warm reassurance and helping me to regain my normal comfort level with the game world I dearly love. Marathal, Ingles, Venalan, I'm still grateful and I will always be.
There's a lot of recent changes to the game which don't make me especially happy, but compared to the highest standard of human interaction in Planeshift any technical problem or a feature one doesn't like, simply doesn't matter, while honesty and good will and friendship do. It's real and it's IRL.
