I can't even run the game!
« on: July 18, 2010, 07:57:58 am »
Hello,

I'm completely new to all this so sorry if I'm being a complete noob.

Basically, I'm on a Mac and downloaded the game and installed it into my Applications folder. After running the launcher and clicking the repair icon, the patch seems to have downloaded fine. All seems well but when I try to open the psclient, it'll seem to load but then goes to a white screen and just closes..end off.

If anyone's got any solutions I'd really be grateful, cheers!

Usually computer specs are needed to determine these kinds of problems but offhand, did you adjust the graphics settings?

Here are my specs :

 Model Name:   MacBook Pro
  Model Identifier:   MacBookPro5,3
Processor Name:   Intel Core 2 Duo
  Processor Speed:   2.66 GHz
  Number Of Processors:   1
  Total Number Of Cores:   2
  L2 Cache:   3 MB

  Bus Speed:   1.07 GHz
  Boot ROM Version:   MBP53.00AC.B03

And I've tried un-checking the Enable VBO box inthe graphics menu, and running another integrity check but still the same problem..  :'(

Hello Loanne

The updater was broken some hours yesterday. Can you try to update again? (Or even reinstall and update)

There was a bad update put out yesterday that broke the Mac client. As soon as the problem was discovered work was started to correct the problem. It took a couple of hours but the problem was fixed and a new update was put out that corrected the problem. Sounds like you got ahold of one of the bad updates. Running the PS'aunch program again and getting the the latest update should solve the problem.
