...several days later...Ojaveda craves for rain. Bamboo leaves are coated with fine dry dust, same dust filling the air and making people worry for no reason at all. This year's Treman turned out to be exceptionally hot indeed.
A tall figure can be seen crossing dsar Akkaio's main street toward the alchemist's. The figure is covered, head to toe, in a blood red cloak, its gait so confident and purposeful it borders on sheer arrogance. The figure enters the shop and a conversation ensues; what a pity we can't hear what is said there, my sweet reader!
Minutes pass before a silver-haired, wrinkle-faced Xacha man emerges from the shop and beckons to his neighbor merchant, a slim-looking Dermorian guy. The Dermorian comes closer, nods several times, then returns to his stall. He unlocks and closes several chests while muttering to himself. After a while, he takes a small bottle out of one of the chests and enters the shop, bottle in hand.
Minutes pass again... and minutes more... then, suddenly, a dazzling bright blue flash penetrates the shop's walls and... what is this? an unbearably strong wave of SMELL hits the dsar. YARROW!!! The inhabitants cover their noses with their hands or paws hastily and shake their heads in frustration or amazement. A rat that happened to scurry past the shop starts spinnning around itself; it spins and spins till it gets totally disoriented and falls down (plump!) the narrow gap between the alchemist's and Master Blades. It spins several times more, limping severely, then perceives a female rat nearby and engages in hot pursuit: any herbalist might tell you that yarrow is a strong aphrodisiac.
Above and several moments later, a man's voice can be heard, saying in a tone of mild reproach "Now, by Talad! Brintec, it was way too strong!" and another, somewhat younger voice muttering something about unreliable suppliers and wrong labels. Then yet another voice, harsh, sounding a bit scratchy and undoubtedly male, covers it all: "Is it ready, now?" One can easily conclude the speaker, whoever it may be, is irritated. Some clinking (coins?) follows, then the same tall cloaked figure leaves the shop and strolls toward Brado's with the same purposeful gait. The man holds an envelope, looking very much like a letter or a note, in his hand. Two men, an old Xacha and a Dermorian, standing on the porch, watch the figure leaving. The Xacha looks puzzled. The Dermorian, worried. They then shake hands and part, the elf returning to his stall and an older man entering the shop again.
Ojaveda still craves for rain.
All the dishes Reffitia had cooked that day, smelled faintly of yarrow.
Thus, the adventures of the Yarrow Note began...[OOC]
...and it's where the YARROW NOTE GAME starts!
RULESUPDATE: APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED for those who didn't apply earlier, either here or in-game.
Anyone who still wants to join, can do that on their own risk and for free.* Every player can play a game
once.
* The game can be played individually or by groups.
* The goal of the game is to backtrack the Yarrow Note's path from one of the starting points (see below) all the way back to the Villain.
* Groups must apply on the forum, in this very thread, with complete listing. The first name entered is considered to be the group leader. Individuals can apply ingame (either to Sashia Mennar or to Keella Uholous via /tells), but forum is a safer option anyway.
* The game is to be played IC'ly; OOC info won't be accepted and won't bring you any game points.
* In order to acquire game points, you must contact a character ingame, get a piece of info from him/her/kra, then cut the log of that encounter and email it to yahoo.com (some gibberish here to trick junk mail bots) user: sashiamennar. Only the logs from those who officially applied for the game will be processed.
* The winner (or winners) of the game will be
personally thanked by the world-famous smith Hangatyr near Harnquist's, at the appointed day.
* The game ends
Sep 12 October 10 this year.
* Any questions concerning the rules are most welcome. Feel free to ask!
JUST FYI: Please remember that the characters you're supposed to communicate with, are
not NPC's. Anyone who will try the 'about the Yarrow note' approach while trying to get the info, will face the risk of being disqualified from the game. Also, please remember that the info-holding characters
are not obliged to give you, the player, any info, so please be creative. Maybe you will have to find a personal approach to any of them in order to get the info you need. They are but normal Yliakum citizens living their normal lives. Make your best effort to communicate in good RP style, it may matter afterwards.
STARTING POINTS:* Hangatyr (the Way of the Hammer guild)
* Keella (same guild, Hangatyr's wife)
* Hangatyrson (son of Hangatyr's)
Make yourself famous! Join us and have fun! We're here to RP, aren't we?
