Max skills don't feel very elite at all.
« on: August 31, 2010, 07:41:01 pm »
So, it seems to me as though it is not worth it to train all the way up to max for the reason that it doesnt feel elite or awesome.   The combat system is so screwed up man...how can I with lvl 150 axe with 2 Q300 axes hit an ulbernaut for just 150 damage..."Where's the beef?" also heard similar things with magic spells and such, from friends.  I just think that we (and by we, i mean you guys, DEVS :P) could fix this, because its NOT rewarding to max right now.  When i say to "fix this" here are my suggestions:
1.)  You could boost Weapon damages.
2.)  You could uncap Weapon maxing, so that you could get to lvl 1,000 axe if you wanted.

:)  Overall, I'd say that it's NOT FUN or cool to have max combat, as per right now.
* Madoring just wants to smash ulbernauts in less than 10 hits.
*just tested, 7 hits actually.  i remember being able to take them down in 4 hits with q50 SWORDS.  this is lvl 150 axe with q300 axes...
<3 PlaneShift Though.   just my feedback.

as for combat - it's being worked on ;)

But for that spell you need a lava glyph and there about 2-4 of them in game and none are in circulation.

I have an ego so large it has it's own gravity. So in short, yes, everything does revolve around me.

Oh, I though elite was a harsh term thrown at people who want to protect the integrity of RP in PS.

It might not necessarily give you much of an edge against an ulber... but surely having max axe helps with other things.  I can't wait to max my axe for PvP, and for looting/hunting things a bit smaller than the ulbies. :D  I try not to pick on things that much bigger than me. hehe.

Incidentally, what stance are you using to get that 150?  And what axes? Reinforceds?
Also, it's more credible to others if you grow in power slowly over time.  First kill rats, then noobs, then klyros, and eventually work your way up to more powerful creatures ~ Miomai

there are more spells that do similiar amounts of damage, was just first example that came into my mind ;)

also - indeed - the weapon you use does matter a lot ;)

IDK if PL-Nazi is the term for me, I play on the Non-RP server, and have been there since it opened you silly guy.  I just thought the community deserves my oppinion on the matter.  It just seems weird to me that it would take so many hits at max was all.  As per "elite" i always thought max combat would make me feel like a boss you know?  it does in pvp, guess ulbers just have thick skin

PL-nazi.

Let's figure out who's on what server before one starts tossing out "planeshift insults".  PL'ing is certainly okay on the non-rp server.

uncapping is not really doable as else you would overflow the formula

What I don't understand about this topic and what RlyDontKnow said, Combat is getting worked on... well honestly it was perfectly fine in 0.4.03  :)
You maybe roleplaying but you could still be OOC.

there isnt a cap on skills, its just that individual NPC's train to certain level's FROM certain levels, there are already set npc,s for get skills from 0 to 150 depending, if your skill doesnt go higher, thats just becuase there is no npc for it :P
