Guarding Items
« on: September 16, 2010, 07:52:53 am »
Hey.

Sorry that this maybe a little close to the other 'Guarding Items with Familiars' thread, its just a little different than the other thread.

The command for /guard is really annoying.

When you guard something and it unguards (pops up, "Its not good to leave (item name) here") and then you have to pick it all up and place it all back down.
Also /guard to un-guard something?
Why cant we just have a /guard (to guard instead of picking up and dropping item) and a /unguard (to un-guard items. /guard is the command at the moment) command?
You maybe roleplaying but you could still be OOC.

guard is more than unguard it can guard items too provided you have enough access level.
and the other message won't be removed the system to make item disappear in 2 hours will be eventually activated.

My idea is that you can do /unguard (instead of /guard to un-guard your item) and /guard (instead of picking up or dropping it)

I have found items automatically un-guard before and don't get me wrong, I have had a lot of weapons stolen from me because of it.

the command is /guard [on/off] so it makes perfect sense.
players are entitled only to off due to the fact it's not possible to know if you've the right to access the item and you aren't attempting to steal the access without people noticing by guarding an item which isn't yours

/guard when you are not guarding the item won't work, unless it has been fixed since I was banned.

But I know for sure /guard does not re-guard an item. You always had to pick up and drop again.
