Game Music

Here is the team battle song for FF11, I think it\'s great. I hope Planeshift uses a song when your fight by yourself and when you fight in a team.

Here\'s a sample of fighting music when your fighting in a team.

I think this is my favorite battle song of all time
Just copy and paste this link in your address bar and goto it. It should start by itself.
http://www.rpgfan.com/soundtracks/ff11/1-19.ram

It\'ll run on real player just click on the link and run it\'ll automatically run on real player I think.

When this song is running, just imagine you and three of your friends fighting a monster, then you\'ll see what I mean.

Sounds like good hero music. Is it free though? Free to download? I\'d assume it would be if you can listen to the whole thing off of the net.

Just because you can download it off of the net doesn\'t mean it\'s legal or free.  Heard of kazaa?

Yes, thats a serious issue. In Germany it is (still) legal to make a private copy for personal use, but distribution is illegal and implementing it in Planeshift is distribution.
thanks for reading

How about this: http://bigbrother.vac.hu/~einstein/battle.ogg
700 KB, stereo. Download, then use Winamp (or any other ogg player) to play it.
NOTE: This is absolutely not free, this is my personal copy, I don\'t take responsibility, you should delete it in 24 hours, etc...

Who finds out which game\'s music is this, I\'ll gratulate him: he is a true RPGer :)

Hmmm. I haven\'t been on these for a long time...
No matter, here is another great battle theme:
http://bigbrother.vac.hu/~einstein/combat02.ogg

Again, this is NOT free. Delete it in 24 hours.

Who can tell which game is it from? (No, it is no BG :) )

WOW! Congratulations!
I never thought anyone would know or remember.
I seems we have some real roleplayers here.  :D

BTW, isn\'t it just good? Something I would listen when I crack some creep\'s skull.

The problem with music is there are many cool songs but they are not free of course. One possibility is to get a free old game with good music and with some programing skills rip the music out of the game. Second if there is a good composer here listen to some (I personnaly recomend shadowbane music....the only good thing asbout this game :) ) and he could try to change it a bit (well a bit more maybe) so you won\'t have legal problems. I would like to help but I am pretty bad composer :( Only good at making stories D&D and giving ideas :)

Yeah, sometimes I encounter really great music, and when I do, I get it. From the game (if it has it in files - like homm3 had that in mp3), or from the Net. Homm2 had brilliant battle music too, and the most relaxing adventure-screen music. I\'m talking about the MIDI version. Of course it depends only on your sound card how MIDI sounds, but if you have a good soundfont, it can sound really great. I haven\'t found them anywhere, don\'t some of you know where can I find homm2 music? I have been looking for it for a looong time, without result :(

I just posted the above music as I think they are good. I would listen to something \"similar\" when I go to hack\'n\'slash in Yliakum.
I hope the PlaneShift musicians will make some good battle theme(s).

ever heard of http://www.funkbunny.com/ ? ...they offer cheap, but nice music to free open-source games (note the FREE and OSS in it!!!) ...well, just bacuse they\'re nice :]

also, i\'d sugfest you\'d check the arkhart soundtrack, when they get back online ...they\'re also a free open-source (soloand multi)FRP, and their music is pretty nice ;)

[edit]
changed the \"not\" into \"note\" ...a very awkward typo :(
