Masters of Move's annivarsary events
« on: October 09, 2010, 10:14:57 pm »
Dear Sirs and Ladies,

We Masters of Move will exist for 3 cycles very soon [13th of Oct], in order to celebrate our anniversary we will hold 2 events, namely a mount race, and a duelling tournament, with parties afterwards.

Mount Race:

The mount race will take part next to the outpost at bronze doors 2, where the race track already is [at 16th of October at 20:00 GMT].

Rules:

Everyone can participate by spending 40 circles as entry fee.

There will be one main prize of half a million for the winner.

3 times 2 races will take part, namely 3 ovals, and 3 figure 8's

Racers will be awarded points according to this system:
- winner of a race gets 5 points
- No 2 gets 3 points
- No 3 gets 1 point

In the end all points earned by the racers will determine who won, and the winner will be awarded a prize of half a million trias.

Afterwards a party will be held in the Stonehead Tavern in Gugrontid.

Duelling Tournament

The duelling tournament will take place next to the lake at bronze doors road 1, close to the entrance to Gugrontid [at 17th of October at 20:00 GMT]

Rules:

- Everyone can participate by spending 100 circles as entry fee.
- There will be one main prize of a million trias for the winner.
- All duellers enter unarmored to make each weapon fairer compared to another.
- Shield usage allowed.
- Duellers are not allowed to use potions, nor food, and will be monitored.
- No magic is to be used.
- No bows are to be used.
- Duellers make their opponents know they are ready by jumping two times.
- Duellers will get a number and the dice decide who one has to face.
- Fights will take place in elimination rounds, no points, who wins goes to the next round, who looses is out.
- The finals will be 3 duelling rounds instead of 1, whoever wins 2 out of 3 will win a million trias.

Afterwards a party will be held in the Stonehead Tavern in Gugrontid.

We Masters of Move hope to see many there, and hope you all will enjoy!!! see you there!!!

how about no bows if armor isn't allowed? they'd be quite unfair without armor ;)

Ah racing, the thing of this game completely dependent on lag of your oponents. whoever lags the least wins, so let the race begin *shoots a gun*

Isn't that the idea of a race? To see which is faster?

The races are not as easy as some may think. Lag may be an issue for some as is anything else. Coordination is also another. If any had participated in the races of the last Unodin celebration they would have experienced that. I seen that many could not could not steer their way effectively around the track at times even though they were good with the mechanics. A wrong press of a key or judging the  turns can result in a win or loss. The figure eight race is great as it can be confusing for those that participate as some make wrong turns even when they were leading. The size of the race participants also may make a difference in how some react in the race.

For lag, make sure if you are racing to move around the map area before racing. The track is far enough away from the Outpost that it is not an issue. All that was tested early in the year. Even an early jump is not a factor during the race. As I am sure that will be monitored for one and can easily be countered on the turns in most races if that player does not make the turn right. The barrels are locked into place and if a player gets to close they will stop, if they go to wide another may undercut them and gain an advantage.

Races and Tournaments are mechanically based events.
No, they do not suit all PS players and No, they are not limited to the PLer non-RP PS player group.

Yes, they do classify as a RP event for those that argue different. A RP event is one that provides a setting in which characters can generate RP from. Both the races and the Tournament do so. If mechanics restrict a character from participating entirely then that characters description may be out of text to the games setting and/or the games mechanical settings. That does not mean that you cannot participate actively in the mechanical part of the event or to RP effectively as a spectator or a participant of the events. It does mean however as was stated that your character would be at a slight of disadvantage.

The RP value of an event whether mechanically based or strictly text is based on the preference of the individual player. If one does not suit the player fully then may all means play one that does. The idea of any event is to generate fun in which others can enjoy and/or ignore however you see fit to apply that to your perceptive of game play.

However, even mechanically planned events are and should be conducted within the basic rules of the the RP guidelines. Meaning that all OOC text should be bracket and/or not used in main chat so that those who do wish to use the event to RP are not offended and that those that chose to use the mechanics should  be aware and make every effort to stay within those basic guidelines. The fact that they are mechanical events does not mean we throw out the principles of RP just to see the event through it's course.

For those that participate. Have Fun!  For those that don't. Have Fun!

7 Racers entered and moved in haste to try to get as many poionts as they could in 3 times an oval, and 3 times the figure eight, these are the ones that participated (listed in alphabetical order):

- Amirildo
- Aschatan
- Destina
- Glaciusor
- Mishka
- Mordaan
- Pontifer

all racers had much fun, and these are the outcomes of all races held:

the first oval:

1: Amirildo with 5 points
2: Aschatan with 3 points
3: Pontifer with 1 point

the first figure eight:

1: Pontifer with 5 points
2: Mordaan with 3 points
3: Amirildo with 1 point

the second oval:

1: Pontifer with 5 points
2: Mordaan with 3 points
3: Mishka with 1 point

the second figure eight:

1: Pontifer with 5 points
2: Mordaan with 3 points
3: Aschatan with 1 point

the third oval:

1: Pontifer with 5 points
2: Mishka with 3 points
3: Aschatan with 1 point

the third figure eight and last race:

1: Mishka with 5 points
2: Aschatan with 3 points
3: Mordaan with 1 point

Eventually the total of points given to the racers was as followed:

1: Pontifer with 21 points
2: both Aschatan and Mordaan with 12 points
4: Mishka with 9 points
5: Amirildo with 6 points

The race has been enjoyed very much by those who participated and was at least very exciting for me!!

Gratulations Pontifer for winning half a million trias!!!

see you all at the duelling tournament!!

The duelling tournament was a success, many brave souls entered to fight each other for the main prize.

The players that entered the first round are listed here, according to the number they were given:

1:Trogdar
2: Teshia
3: Pontifer
4: Kelpi
5: Sliss
6: Glaciusor
7: Earowo
8: Ikon
9: Koios
10: Caraick
11: Kisoji
12: Perlan

In the first round these people faced each other in battle:

Trogdar - Kelpi (Trogdar won)
Sliss - Glaciusor (Glaciusor won)
Ikon - Caraick (Ikon won)
Pontifer - Teshia (Pontifer won)
Perlan - Koios (Koios won)
Earowo - Kisoji (Kisoji won)

In the second round these people fought:

Ikon - Koios (Koios won)
Trogdar - Glaciusor (Glaciusor won)
Kisoji - Pontifer (Kisoji won)

In the semi finals there was an odd number of fighters, that's why was decided they all had to fight each other for points, i.e.: 2 points for the winner of a single fight.

Kisoji 2 - Glaciusor 0
Glaciusor 0 - Koios 2
Kisoji 0 - Koios 2

Kisoji and Koios went to the finals, where Kisoji eventually beat Koios according to the best of 3 rounds system, and took home a million trias with him.

Thanks all for having come either to fight or to watch, it was a great tournament!

Untill the next!!

Earowo - Kisoji (Kisoji won)

*Vakachehk sees this and laughs "Earowo has been proven wrong, not the best out of them all"

To be honest, it was unfairly done by the looks of it, everyone should of gone against everyone. and the top 2 go into the finals for 3rd and 4th and 2 go into the finals for 1st and 2nd. But that is how you want to do it that's is fine, very time consuming lol.

And congratulations Kisoji on wining!
You maybe roleplaying but you could still be OOC.
