Blue Screens and an Intel GMA 950 (the horror)
« on: October 11, 2010, 08:06:53 am »
I've been getting very good preformance on a Toshiba nb100 netbook....

Specs:
Processor: Intel Atom N270 1.6ghz with hyperthreading (I CAN turn this off in bios if needed)
Ram: 1gb ddr2
Graphics card/accelerator: Intel GMA 950 (128mb)
HDD (not that it really matters) : A Toshiba 120gb hdd (not ssd)

Anyway a few minutes into play I get a random Blue screen (I will post a pic with technical info if anyone requests), this also happens on source games (half-life 2/gmod)
I have graphics on low with a res of 800x600 and textures on highest (same result/performance/BSOD chance on low)
and sound on  (same result/performance/BSOD chance when off)

I've tried deleting the shader cache and deleating that water plane.xml and these didn't work
(shader cache deleting only made it laggy at the start again)

Please help me prevent these Blue Screens...
This is the best mmorpg I've ever played....

you should try updating/downgrading your drivers as bsod are frequently caused by that. Also you might want to check if your computer is overheating: in that case check the dissipation systems (dust, broken fans...)

If anyone has this card, what drivers do they reccomend?

and I don't think it's overheating, it wouldn't suddenly cause a BSOD after starting the game after a 6 hour day of school (without the pc being on)

Offtospic: Yes, and Morrowind is better than Oblivion at all aspects apart from combat system, graphics (only without mge and hi-res texture packs) and it has better engine optimisation (but horrible lighting optimisation)

The TES series is great, they are REAL RPG's like Planesift....
