Monster
« on: May 21, 2003, 01:40:35 am »
Sorry to the Dev but I forgot, but it\'s the one who is thinks about what monster that should be fought in the game and makes them I think. I think its Darkmoon or something like that. We\'ll I think we should help the Dev\'s out so it would be nice if everyone would post an 1 idea about a monster you would like in the game.

Here\'s one of my monsters:

Name: Rabbito
Classweight: Newbie Monster for beginners when you first start in the game.

Physical Traits: Looks like a small brown rabbit but with big eyes. It has big claws and can tackle you.

Physical Attack: Claw Swipes, tackle
Magical Attack: Throws Sand at you (Earth Damage)

Life/ Hit Points: Low

We once had a thread about this subject, but it died out long ago.  I think it would be good to have another go at it.  If anyone wants to describe monsters here for possible in-game use, I will keep a log of all entries along with the creator\'s name/nick.

Rules:
- no damage/skill/attribute/other stats
- describe the monster\'s appearance in detail (include colors)
- briefly describe any combat styles (how they attack, what body parts they use to attack, etc.)
- please name your monster (we got some without names last time)
- limit one monster per post

rats
classical rats

Nothing special about them. They are little, nasty creatures, which can bite and do little damage. A bored newbie could kill some. They could serve as meat for other creatures.

Danger:
Think of masses of rats (perhaps leaded by a druid). You can easily kill one rat (if you hit it) but what, if hundreds of them attack you? Think of sneaking through the canalisation and suddenly a huge squeaking and hundreds of 1hit-point-damages.

Advantage:
rats can always be an excuse for disappearance of items. it\'s not a bug, it was a rat! If somebody drops a knife or similiar on  the street, the engine has to kill such \"obsolete\" items. Why not combine this with a little rat?

Appearance:
Small, grey, ugly
thanks for reading

How \'bout tigers and lions for the more middleclass monsters ? They\'d be untakeable by noobs, but would make nice middleclass mob.

Argh, no, I was just about to post my topic when I accidenlty go back a window with the backspace key! Fine, I\'ll always have notepad open when I\'m using the forums.

Name: Clachiatore

Physical appearance: The Clachiatore is basically a crab with an extra shell protecting its back. The shell and the crab are golden in color, although the Clachiatore is usually waiting inside its shell with its eyes scanning for any nearby victims. The Clachiatore has six legs, of which have feet that have strong grips due to sharp claws. The eyes are on stalks, and the mandibles are average-sized for a crab. From a few feet away and further, it looks just like a golden nugget. A relatvie of the Clachiatore looks like a crystal from a few feet away.

Attack styles: The Clachiatore, when a victim is at least a few feet away, will suddenly jump a few feet into the air. Immediately after, if the victim is larger, the crab will hold on. If smaller, the victim will be pounced upon and slain nearly instantly in most cases.

For larger opponents, the Clachiatore will jump a few feet, drop the outer shell, and with two of its feet, get a good grip on the victim. It will then swing itself and start slashing as well as biting the larger opponent. By this time, several other Clachiatores will join in the fight and together, overwhelm the opponent with slashing feet (at least two will always be used as a grip) and its mandibles.

After the battle, the Clachiatore will then usually devour the prey. Clachiatores are socail creatures as well, so from several yards distance, there will be seen several golden nuggets. Unfortunately, they are not what they seem...

Shells provide large protection against many things. It is part of the Clachiatore, and is not made of gold though it seems so, but the Clachiatore is made rather vulnerable when attacking the opponent.
You pay the same price for doing something halfway as for doing it completely. So you might as well do it completely.

Name: Trolloc (can you tell where this ones going? ;))
Apearance: Twice as tall and as wide as a man, but human in origin and basic shape. However, certain parts of the body are crossed with other animals in a random fashion, eg: one might have goats legs, the torso and arms of a human and the head of a human but with a hawks features. The would wear black chainmail in an evil style (think Chaos Space Marines spiky bits from WH40K).
Combat Styles: They are blood thirsty savages that live only to kill and eat those they slaughtered, and so they charge straight at an enemy they think they can kill. If the enemy looks to hard to kill, they go looking for some more of their kind and gang up on it. Unless there\'s a Myrdraal with them ;) They would use big axes and swords specifically crafted to look evil and be poisonous.

Ok, maybe not specifically this since it\'s a rip off from the Wheel of Time series, but something akin to this would be rather cool. BTW for those who don\'t know a Myrdraal is basically a man, who has a deathly white complection and no eyes that wears a black cloak unaffected by the wind. Also master swordsmen, and completly evil, and cause fright on sight. They can herd Trollocs and make them fight things they\'d otherwise run away from.

I\'ll put one more monster, cuz technically the one I had was the starting post so....ya..also I wanna keep this thread going for Darkmoon.

Name: Fallen King
Classweight: for higher-average players

Physical Traits: He looks like a king of a castle during the medieval ages. He has his robe, crown, and cape, but its all grayish and its rusty. Most of the \"Fallen King\" would have a skeleton as its body. Also he is holding a longsword in one hand.

Physical Attack: Attacks with a sword

Magical Attack: Brings two of his knights back from the dead. (The knights would have a smaller amount of HP and can only attack with their sword, the knights would look like regular knights with silver armour but they look translucent like a ghost.)

Items Dropped (if you need an idea) The Fallen King would drop:
- Dark Cape (adds to defense and raises protection against dark type magic; uncommon)
- Tria (common)
- Crown of the Fallen King (dramatic increase against dark type magic, undead monsters can be captured as a pet, if your a Animal Trainer or whatever that job was called; ultra-rare)

Life/Hit Points - Moderate

Another Monster here:

Name: Taag\'mafuhandi
Classweight: Average-Level Players

Physical Traits: Looks exactly elephant, with tusks, except it has a ruby crystal implanted in its forhead and the monster\'s skin is light orange. Its size would be as big as a big-rig truck, like the ones on the freeways.

Physical Attack: It can tackle you with its massive strength, or it\'ll kick you with its hind-legs, kinda like a horse.

Magical Attack: Wind Force (it\'ll suck up air with its trunk and hit you hard with a strong wind; wind elemental damage), Earthquake (it\'ll stomp on the ground creating a shockwave causing an earthquake; earth elemental damage).

Items Dropped (if you need an idea):
- Ivory Tusks (Used to make weapons? rare)
- Hexa (money; uncommonly common)
- Ruby Crystal (used for different purposes; common)

Life/Hitpoints - High
