roleplaying

Hey, I'm not sure if I'm going to download this game or not. I'm wondering is there good roleplay here? Is it not a dead community? Is there always something interesting going on? Is there the option to attack anyone anywhere?(for RP reasons of course) I come from another RPing game Illarion that is losing it's grip on me and I'm looking for somewhere else.

Thanks

I guess it depends on what you thing good RP is. The game has its peek times for when more players are on - more on more RP around. Theres for the most part always something interesting you just have to find it or create it!

Players have to accept duels or have auto accept on but there are some PvP zones where you can attack anyone there.

Give it a try for a few weeks and see how you like it is the best advice i can give, it might be a bit confusing at first but ask questions and the community (minus the trolls ) will try and help out =)

Welcome Noobstorm, and hope you'll give PS a try. You may be interested to have a look at the database of characters registered in The Cooperative Plot Creation Project to know some folks you can look for to create RP.

Not that they are the only ones mind you.  ;)

Well PlaneShift's 'RP' server isn't a total RP crazy server, you may find a few people wandering around OOCly or someone speaking something OOCly, just type /report [player name] and a GM will deal with it. OOC isn't accepted but yes you will and I am sure you will find at least someone saying meow or kitten to an Enkidukai. Kub and rawr is more IC just so you know :)

Warning about trolls and annoying people, theres this one dwarf named Calack, (who doesn't really play anymore) just don't follow him to the arena or to any PvP area  ;D
You maybe roleplaying but you could still be OOC.

ahh dont listen to this guy, he's been banned forever now and spends his time in deserted oja :P
Go to taverns, arena, iron mines, ect, you'll find plenty of people you can start an RP with, If your more wanting rp fights, seek out people related to the Ditem necromancy RP, fight the undead with us ; )

Hmm... as far as I can tell PS is still better than many RP places out there but the "good" factor is subjective. I think a more helpful question for you would be to ask what kind of RP is going on. I personally love RP but I won't RP in just any setting or in any plot which is part of the reason I just don't bother any more, none of the going plots ever seem to be the kind I would do.

There's great roleplaying going on, but it's usually to be found in niches of players. In PS's case (since you don't have a general plotline) experience changes very much from player to player, depending on time-zone and on the players you contact with.

It's easy to find people to cooperate with you and it's easy to get sucked into light roleplays... But it's quite hard to find deep and complex plots unless you create them yourself, or know of other players to include you in it.

The community's certainly not dead. But interesting stuff happens only in if you've been lucky enough to get into it. Unless you haven't depleted all the quests yet (which are boring because you have to walk plenty, but interesting because they contain fun stories, even if most can't be used as RP material.)

If there wasn't still some roleplaying gone somewhere, I could have quit already. Too many pessimists tried to get me out of here. But it is still too cozy to leave.

Enter, search me, find me, play with me. And with all my friends who still persist and insist in staying.

Its like that for me too, ive seen many many people come and go on this game, from best friends to worst enemies, I may not have played as long as your common 'oldbie' but i've still played a while in my book, almost 2 years, and even with how good graphics, plots, ect other games have, i could never bring myself to leave PS, no matter what anyone could say or do..

Noobstorm, what is your characters name? I play as Dracaeon and Manxa.  See if we can catch each other sometime, although, I'll have you note that if you have a violent character you and Manxa will not get along well.
