So..what about making an exception from the wedding rules just for Elvi and giving him the woman's last name. Then we only had to find a...deaf..ahm...blind...I mean willing victim as his wife.

Sometimes your actions appear highhanded to me. Is having a family name mandatory again? At least it was not for a while, I remember at least two weddings where one partner lost the family name. So how consequent will you be after Elvi?
