None.

PlaneShift must not take concepts from other games... at least not blatantly.

In my opinion PS shall take the best ideas from other MMORPGs and combine them to something unique.

Catlemur, Planeshift, has basically promised itself, that it will never intentionally take things from other games, its plagurism btw,

Also if sombody suggests somthing in the wishlist, and says a game they've seen it in, that wish is usually ignored, this thread is just asking to be deleted.

Thats a good Way to avoid the Implementation of good Ideas.
Whats the Game Industry without Plagiarism ?
99% of all new Games are based on old Ideas (and 99.9% of all Statistics are made up).

So, if i say : "I want a Spellbook, like in WoW, with a ordered List of all possible Actions, and drag & drop them to a Action Bar, with pretty Icons" -
this Idea gets ignored, because someone did it before (with great Success) ?  :(
And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O LORD, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy."

Don't misunderstand us. ;)

It is not like "We will not implement a good idea because another game already has it implemented". It is rather like "We don't implement ideas from other games only because they have it."

Good ideas which fit in our concept may be implemented. But only because Talad agrees that it matches his own concept. Not because anyone else demands that it must be copied.

The term "must" is one of the reasons why this request will probably be rejected. But not the only one. After all, only Talad's plans are relevant. Developers may suggest, but the decision belongs to the project founder and leader.

While it isn't a great idea to copy another game just because that feature is neat, there are a few things that PS really could use - to take one example from WoW, a quick-toggle between full-screen and windowed mode with a quick key combination.

And Ohforf, WoW's method of organizing the skills and binding hotkeys works for them, but PS has its own GUI, and most people end up binding their spells of choice to hotkeys anyway. A quicker & easier method than opening Shortcuts, right-clicking the empty box, and typing the command and hotkey you want and naming it would be appreciated, but doesn't have to be just like WoW's.

Being able to store items was a huge step forward for PlaneShift.
Is it possible to add a book icon or keyboard command to enable us to see a view-only version of our inventory? It doesn't seem unusual for example, for a crafter of armor/weapons to have a list of what is available for sale in their pockets. Creating several books to manually type in the information takes up inventory space as we walk around. This has been implemented in other games and is just a gentle suggestion.

I like what Catlemur is thinking, taking the good things from other games and either making them better, different or unique then that will make PS a good game to play.

Catlemur, Planeshift, has basically promised itself, that it will never intentionally take things from other games, its plagurism btw,

Also if sombody suggests somthing in the wishlist, and says a game they've seen it in, that wish is usually ignored, this thread is just asking to be deleted.

Lol wrong there, look at what's on the heads of WoW characters, a green name just like in Planeshift...

I think suggesting in the wishlist get ignored anyway. Except if your name is Sangwa :P

You maybe roleplaying but you could still be OOC.

Im sure your being sarcastic, but thats completely different for two reasons.

1.) Having the same color is not plagurism, or copying, colors are just colors.
2.) Having the same text font is not plagurism or copying, obiously on game or the other, was to lazy to make, or use, a different font from the defualt one.

[btw, you can change, what color names above heads are in the options window, IG, so that further proves your wrongness]

[I don't care about 'changing' the colour, it's the default that matters, because really I bet you could change the colour in WoW too]

I believe that was just a simple example of what the devs have copied, if you want to get into further detail such as elfs wow huge copy of about every single game, along with Humans... some of the architecture is copied but have been made more unique. The fact that its a medieval game, along with how many other games? But they made it more unique/better setting, by having it in a stalactite not on earth or wherever.

The fact is that it's the same colour and same text and that it is on their heads. Yes the devs got that idea and made it slightly different such as what you said you can change the colour (note I don't know for sure if you can change the default colour) and that is what this thread is about, getting simple thing or good things from games and making it better, easier to use or more unique.

I like that idea Zarre, to get an updated book each time you visit your storage. Somehow it would work better if the book was not dropable, to avoid books being everywhere and people making tria off it and... yeah.

I guess the idea of game suggestions, is if you think of somthing 'yourself' that can fit within game guidlines and storylines, it can be considered for use. If you have a suggestion, that is common among a lot of games, but again, would fit under game guidlines, and story guidlines, it can be considered, but if you ask for somthing that is unique, to a specific, game, it will be shot down, unless they can edit the idea, to be relative to 'this' game, and be different enough to 'not' be plagurism.
this game cannot afford to be sued, becuase it is a non-profit game.
that is why you have to take suggestions seriously.

Oh be quiet Earowo! Im sick of your arrogance people are getting sick of you just please be quiet. You're no dev or GM, neither has anyone you knew IRL so you don't know. Really I think they should take things from other games and use it (and change it slightly) to PS's benefit.

Lol Chucki!
