PlaneShift Discussion Boards on GamesOverview?

Hello all

My name is Avguste and I have been following Planeshift for many years.
I am the owner of GamesOverview, a new gaming discussion forum located at http://gamesoverview.org

I am considering opening a section for Planeshift, but wanted to see if anybody would be interested.
GamesOverview is a place for gamers to talk about their game without interference from devs, official moderators and the likes.

I looked around the site, but couldn't find a section for fan sites and the such.

Would the Planeshift community be interested and participate if GamesOverview opens up a Planeshift section?

To be perfectly honest, I don't think I would.

The first reason is that I really don't have the time, or the means to talk about Planshift on another forum.

The second reason is that the moderators do not turn me off the forum whatsoever. Infact, they get rid of trolls and bots, which make the time more enjoyable. In other words, the moderators and admin let you express your own opinion up to the point that it gets really sketchy or offensive, which I agree with.

Finally, the third is because there are likely to be more people complaining about Planeshift, graphics, mechanics, and RP wise, which I really don't want to hear. This is because, the people on this forum are either not banned, or they've played PS for around 10 minutes, just to dislike the graphics, mechanics, or RP. Or they just had a bad experience. These '10 minute players' wouldn't troll on the Hyldaa Plaza forum, because 90% of the people would disagree with them. I've found these cases on other MMO forums, so, no offence to you or your website, but I don't think that this case will be much better.

On the other hand. I do believe it is a good idea, because it would be great to get the game more publicized. I'm just saying, I personally wouldn't participate.

To respond to Mekora

GamesOverview being open to discussions without interference from devs/game masters and the likes, doesn't mean it is a free zone. The site has rules of use and good behavior.
People can disagree with something devs may be doing, but they have to disagree with respect and maturity.
I definitely understand what you mean by trolls and the likes. Having worked for 2Moons (Acclaim Games Inc), I definitely understand the issue with trolls and people being disrespectful.
I cannot promise that GamesOverview will never see its share of issues, however, I can promise that myself and the staff I will select in the future will make sure the site and forums are appropriate.

Now this said, again, there are no problems about people complaining, from the moment they do it in a respectful manner.
And complaints would hopefully bring in people to refute the complaints.

Concerning PlaneShift, it is nothing official and I am just looking at the possibility. Reading forums and this thread to see whether there would be some interest.

I read your forum rules and also posts in the forum. It looks like a good forum to have a section for planeshift in.
The only issue I personally have is, like Mekora, I personally would probably not participate. Because I can pretty much write everything I want here, and because all other forums I know of and that talk about planeshift, were after some time pretty infested with trolls (and I don't need to see such again  ) .

In general, as said, I think it would be a good place, if there are other players who want to actively contribute to the forum section.

Really if it is free discussion and we say something bad we'd get banned from PlaneShift, once Talad finds out that's what would happen. It's how Tuxide got banned and so I wouldn't say anything honest on your website, sorry Avguste.
