Referendum

What would be a good idea in my opinion, is having a referendum so that the player base can vote on what they want, and should happen. The gms can put one up every once in a while, know what to do, and viola!

I have already seen this idea in CoP and it was quite succesful.

Indeed, sounds a bit hard to accomplish. Currently polls happen when the developers have questions about its acceptance in the public... I think it already works good.

Pretty much; the devs put up a poll, the highest vote gets the most work, so forth, until another comes and then they need more ideas, these could work with lore as well, which they have not done to much.

Imagine it like this: So and so devs put up a poll on which race to work on for the time being, players vote kran, therefore the gm team and devs work together to work on kran settings. See how it works?

Ohhhhh! I thought you were meaning to place it IG. Right yes these have happened in the paste like with the Wipe y/n. But never happened to the winning side (Yes) I actually voted No but now I vote yes and still do.

They need to keep doing this then; it will really help get things done.

I think the PS team does a fine job in having a biweekly meet the Devs meeting, all players can be heared there. IMHO i'd say: first look at all given possibilities before making expressions like this.

Um, PS is an absolute monarchy, not a democracy. The usual forum goers should know this by now.

PS can't become a Monarchy without being a democracy. E.g PS has no future if not accepting the feed back and criticism from the players.

The most votes won't necessarily mean that it wins, but more of the discussion and what comes up in that, that Talad sees is a very important comment. It also is getting player feed back and opinions. But still it doesn't mean it will happen or that it's making PlaneShift into a democracy (ran by the players).
