The forsaken outpost.
« on: February 27, 2011, 02:34:14 pm »
Everything started when I was approached by a suspicious Klyros near the Jayose's Library. He offered me a large ruined book, saying that it was found by a friend of him at a remote location in the Stone Labyrinths. The book was truly of a very old age, being written in some ancient form of the Clamod dialect of the Enkidukai language.Although there was a big risk that the book was stolen I purchased it.After arriving home I studied it briefly. The results were astonishing. What I actually had in my possession was a diary of a fabled Clamod revolutionery.Despite the fact that large parts of the journal were damaged by fungi, scorched and even covered with blood I can proudly present you the translated form of Jobena's diary:

After holding the Dsar's gate for more that two weeks we were forced to surrender to the Octarch's army. They executed Rebar without trial and exiled us from the city. That was the end of Rebar's uprising.

...

We soon elected Canesh as our new leader. He proposed that we travel to the Stone Labyrinths and build our new Utopia there. There were not any other worthy ideas so we agreed.

...

We finally arrived to the Bronze Doors. The locals rejected to sell us any weapons following Vigesimi's orders but at least we will have some Shadow Squadron warriors to protect us for a part of our journey.

...

The guards left as soon as we reached unmapped territory. We found a "good" place to found our colony but the place is swarming with Velnishi. We will camp at a safe distance until Canesh finds a way to get them out of there.

...

We took control of the place.Waneka scared the beasts with his magic tricks. It looks like an abandoned outpost of some sort.Luckily for us there was some nice loot there.Swords, kikiri meat and even a glyph. We buried some skeletons we found there.Canesh opened a bag that a comrade from Hydlaa gave him. There were some very useful books there like the:Flora and Fauna of Caves,Adventurer's Survival Guide e.t.c.

...

I miss Ojaveda. We run out of normal food a long time ago.We now live like some savage dwarfs eating cave fungi and aragma meat.I have learned every book we have here by heart. We will start the exploration of an area from the north of here soon.

...

We found nothing interesting except of that weird Dakru's obelisk. The statue was holding a glowing gem and when I touched it,it burnt my paw!No one knows why but the mushrooms around the statue were glowing too.Despite Waneka's protests Canesh ordered to carry it to our camp as well as a book with unknown inscriptions we found nearby.

...

Strange things have happened.Since we placed the gem in our camp everyone sees nightmares.A youngster died from food poisoning (there was no problem with food before) and my paw still hurts.Canesh is acting really aggressively towards the rest of us.

...

Things have worsened.Canesh attacked and wounded Waneka for no reason and then ran away taking the stone with him.It is obvious that the stone had some strange effect on his actions. Moreover the Velnishi have returned but this time we do not have Waneka's help to attack them so we keep our distance.

...

Waneka passed away. The people call me their leader but I do not think I really deserve it.I went with a couple of comrades to destroy the obelisk and there we found Canesh's corpse.I do not know if it is good or bad but the stone was not there. We will head back to the Bronze Doors as soon as we finish packing. We failed our mission.

...

The heinous monsters have surrounded our camp.I am sure that they will attack soon so we built some crude barricades. There are hordes of those creatures out there but they won't catch us off guard.

...

The Velnishi attacked. We were outnumbered and losing badly when something scared them and they ran away.I wonder what can scare such a big pack of these monsters. We lost most of our men and those who survived are all wounded. We can only wait and see.

...

We have not seen any Velnishi but I hear strange sounds coming from the darkness that surrounds the camp.We are being watched by something.

...

It is coming...

Dwarves iz savage. Enkidukai iz perfect. So say the racists.
Ardoin: So, do you drink moonshine?
Earowo: As long as it has alcohol, I'll drink it.
