« on: May 29, 2003, 10:54:21 am »
When I double click the planeshift exe a message with a huge red cross pops upo and yells

INSTALLER INCOMPLETE OR CORUPT

this can be a result of incomplete downlaod or coruption from a virus.

what do I do????

I\'m dieing to play

yeah, same thing happened to me. I\'m just re-downloading the whole thing again. Hey, this is not the complete version of the game right? And when the complete one arrives, we wont have to do anything else ay?

Coolspidey, most likely it will have a nifty lil auto installer that every single other game has.

But for now, the game is pre/alpha so obviously it wont be all nice and complete as other games out there.

Check back in a year or two and see how things are.

Make certain you are not using a seprate program to download these files, it may cause errors.

Just shut down any programs that are used to \"accelerate\" downloads or any download manager that you use to possibly resume downloads. Try that first.

Good luck

download the md5sum program from the download/client page into the same location as where you saved all the parts of PlaneShift.  Now open up notepad or some text editor and enter in the following (you can just run these commands from command prompt if you like... but it has to be in the same directory as where md5sum is):

md5sum PSV0.2.010.Part1 > ps-check1.txt
md5sum PSV0.2.010.Part2 > ps-check2.txt
md5sum PSV0.2.010.Part3 > ps-check3.txt
md5sum PSV0.2.010.Part4 > ps-check4.txt
md5sum PSV0.2.010.Part5 > ps-check5.txt

save this file as \"checkps.bat\" into the same directory where the md5sum and PlanShift parts are.  Then run the program.  It will open up a command prompt box and say the line it is executing.  It will produce 5 files called:

ps-check1.txt
ps-check2.txt
etc

each which corresponds to their respective parts.  Open up each text file and  Compare it to the values listed on the dowload page.  If any of them don\'t match re-download that part.  If part3 produces part1\'s checksum and part1 produces part3\'s (or other kind of combination where the checksum produced matches another parts checksum) just rename the file to save some time.

NOTE:  if you renamed the PS files (like my other post had said) then obviously what I posted won\'t work.  But i\'m sure you could change it to match the filenames you\'ve got.
