I dont get it. What is \"the name\" and I thought that just the comp is linkdead, not certain characters. Can any one tell me what the frick \"the name\" is???

i read all the posts and tried changing the properties but when i got to that screen it didnt give you a choise for the system only what type of file it is could someone please tell me how to get to the right properties menu

Ehtys: Your account \'Ehtys\' is valid, and should work. However, Ehtyz had an error and I have deleted it.

Try to create a character using the name Ehtyz again. Might have better luck this time (as long as you don\'t Linkdead yourself on your upload attempt.)

thats what happened when i made ehtys a while back it told me linkdead but it still connected....

Alright here\'s my story. Downloaded the game yesterday, all 5 parts and run_me_first. I installed it succefully. When I tried to create my first character it said name\'s in use. Then I Tried a different name and it said that I was LinkDead. So then I decided to check out the forums. I read about the ip change 203.81.47.74, that does not work said that Im link dead, the system properties somehow I cant change because I dont have that option when I click properties on psclient.exe. I dont know what else to do, since I dont know if I have a firewall or not I cant check. Anyway please someone help me because I really wanna check out this game.

Specifics: 733 MhZ, 64 Mb Ram, 10 Gb HD, 3d Graphics Accelerator.

Ultima: If you are running a firewall you would see the icon for it in your taskbar. If the icon is there, right click it and choose disable or exit.

You can only change compatability if you\'re running WindowsXP.

And, in your case, the amount of RAM you have is worrying. 64mb is extremely low; I\'d be suprised if you could play any game newer than 3 years old on your system. For PS, I would reccommend 218mb at the very minimum. 512mb is comfortable for most players.

RAM is very cheap to upgrade these days. With 64mb I doubt very much that, even if you solve your linkdead errors, you\'d be able to play the game.

Vagaroth: try this:
- read other posts
- check if the server is up: planeshift.fragnetics.com
- be sure you use the good ip: 203.81.47.74
  or the good host name: planeshift.fragnetics.com
- allow connexion through port 13331 in your firewall (if you have one)
- pray that you haven\'t a proxy (lots of problem with them)
- really read others post and HOWTOs

For your character, i remove it. If you re-experienced this problem go here: http://planeshift.fragnetics.com/admin/form.html
