The game won't start.. ?

Hey,
I\'ve been tryin to work out this problem but it seems I can\'t fix it so I\'m asking you guys.. It\'s like this ;
Planeshift used to run okey on my pc, but this one day (& all the other days after that one) it seems that when the game is initializing the world that it doesn\'t ever stop initialising the world! Also, rarely I\'m able to see the game through my characters view, but I cant move & I have to close the game using ctrl.alt.del .. I run the game in a window for reasons such as this one.. But I can\'t seem to be able to fix this.
Could anyone of you help me? Any suggestions are welcome.

Follow the posting guidelines, not all of us know your specs (even if they have been posted in a previous topic)

The only advice without knowing more about your system is to follow the basic steps.

. Update your video card drivers to the newest ones available (that is xp compatible)

2. Update your sound card drivers

3. Update to the newest version of DirectX (if already newest then reinstall it)

4. Make sure you have all virus checking programs and other tasks disabled or closed while running the game

Obviously something changed to cause it not to work.

You may want to attempt a reinstall of PS as well. Check all the options and the server IP and things too.

same problem, and like u ive never had any problem getting the game to load before, I havent changed anything and now it doesnt work?

Thanks for the advice but I still havn\'t been able to fix anything.. I didnt change my ram or something so I don\'t know why it stopped starting..
Anywayz, if anyone would have an idea, feel free to post it.. seems like I\'m not the only one with this problem.

i got passed the \"initializing world\" but it took a long time
[a looooooong time]   -a \"i took a nap and woke up\" time

however, when i did get into play, VERY choppy  -took li,e 3 steps and i frooze

Yeah I\'ve tried that too, but after about a hour n\' a half it still wasnt running so I gave up..
rarely I do get an in-game view but its frozen; cant move an inch so thats quite useless..

Well I get all of the above so right now I will delete it till it actually run properly (if it ever does)

I mean, it didn\'t work for me so..

Deemer i had the same problem, it seems there a re a few points in the game where it doesnt like u being and so wont load, worse yet u cant type /spawn so u lose ur character till the next update.

The easy way to check if this has happened to u is to try and create another character and see what happens, hope this helps
