server unavailable suddenly but apparently just mine

Operating System:  Windows XP SP3
Processor:  Intel P4 2.66 Ghz
Graphics Card:  ATI Radeon Mobility 7500
System Memory:  1 GB
Video Memory:  16 MB

I downloaded the game, and ran the updater.  After playing the game for a few days, the game suddenly tells me the server is unreachable even though it states that over 100 are signed in.  I tried restarting the game and my computer and ran the repair program (program passes) and confirmed that my internet connection is fine, and there is no change.  I know that my internet connection can flicker off but only for a second. This has resulted in some crashes I believe but it never told me that the server was unavailable if this occurred during log in. I used to play Planeshift about two years ago and have come back (still with same computer). Please help me.  Thanks.

Looking at the game server website it is now obvious that something rather serious is going on:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Too many connections in /home/planeshift/wwwdoc/index.php on line 4

Warning: mysql_select_db() expects parameter 2 to be resource, boolean given in /home/planeshift/wwwdoc/index.php on line 5

Means: If the database server is not accessible, the game server can't use the database and can't work correctly.
