Launching PS
« on: March 05, 2012, 10:04:47 pm »
i browsed the forum but couldn't find any help to my problem. Im runnig Dell XPS 15z laptop, which has two graphical cards, intel and Nvidia optimus, with 64 bit Arch linux instalation. I installed the Planeshift via AUR packages. After instalation trying to run planeshift resulted into app displaying empty window. I tried to comment out crystal joystick, that helped a bit, some error lines dissappeared. But this is what rests (no matter if running with or without nvidia optimus on):

Your configuration files are in... /home/martin/.PlaneShift
ATTENTION: default value of option force_s3tc_enable overridden by environment.
X Error of failed request:  BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request:  129 (XFree86-VidModeExtension)
Minor opcode of failed request:  10 (XF86VidModeSwitchToMode)
  Value in failed request:  0x1c00002
Serial number of failed request:  96
Current serial number in output stream:  100
AL lib: ALc.c:1879: exit(): closing 1 Device

does anyone has an idea how to fix it and make it runnable ?

check your settings in pslaunch and make sure that you either
1) have fullscreen disabled or
2) the set resolution is actually supported (e.g. matches your native resolution)
