Bucket Lists

[Timil Deeps]

The recent Butcher RP and all its talk of True Death got me to thinking about the concept of 'Bucket Lists,' things a person would like to do before they kick the proverbial bucket.

I got to thinking about what my character, Timil, would want to accomplish before True Death takes him, and about what I, as his player, would also like to have happen before either I or the game go kaput (not that I'm anticipating either happening in the foreseeable future).

And so to get this thread started, I present Timil's (IC) and my (OOC, but related to PS) current bucket lists. These lists are not exhaustive, the entries are in no particular order, and there may be some IC/OOC overlap, of course, because some of Timil's goals are naturally some of my goals for him as his player.

Timil:
1. Befriend at least 2 of every race or sentient species.
2. Recruit someone into the Adani Order.
3. Forge a 'finest quality' weapon or piece of armor from beginning to end.
4. Become an Adani Knight.
5. Bake a 'finest quality' pie.
6. Meet a nice fenki and settle down.
7. Figure out which deity I want to follow.
8. Master the Crystal Way.

Player:
1. Collect all of the glyphs.
2. Start an RP that gets a lot of people involved.
3. Finish every available quest I can find.
4. Ride my Rivnak through the sewers without getting lost.
5. Visit the sewers at all without getting lost.
6. Stand on every rooftop in Hydlaa.
7. Get my RL wife to play the game and have our chars meet, fall in love, and marry ingame.
8. Have Timil dance.
9. Have Timil risk his life to save someone else.
10. Win a PVP match.

[Rigwyn]

Rigwyn:

1. Exterminate every form of life from the dome - after making them suffer immensely.
2. Become one with the black flame
3. Scare the bejesus out of Emmara Stripus
4. Hang Mishka from the wench tree in the not-so-secret garden.
5. Light the Red Crystal Den on fire - with Dannae trapped inside 
6. Weld Garosan Ringe's shiny plate armor together with him in it.
7. Cause an earthquake beneath Talad's stone pile in Gugrontid.
8. Turn the Laanx Temple into a house of ill repute.
9.  Poison and foul the water supply in Hydlaa ( again )
10. Overthrow the Octarchy.

Me:

1. Master Dark way
2. Lead a Dakkruist cult - performing dark rituals, and raising the dead.
3. See the game fill up .. man, I'm tired of it being empty.
4. Find shitloads of tria.
5. Get ad revenue for posts made in the ps forum ( not gonna happen.. i know )
6. Run a fantasy RP event ( as discussed on the forum )
7. See Talad RP  ( No, OOC announcements don't count ))
8. Play as Harnquist all stoked on weed, laughing his ass off at stupid shit.
9. See the stone labyrinths open up.
10. See the implementation of undead characters.

[Candy]

Monala:
Have a baby (check).
Raise Ry sane.
Write and sell books (she's sold one copy of one book so far).
See the other Levels.
Find an "important" way to serve Xiosia (spoiler: Nothing will ever feel "important" enough)

...yeah, that's it. She's got simple goals.

Chays:
Find and burn every copy of that book Monala wrote about him
Propose to Tessra
Not get killed or tortured by certain people when he does...
Make a name for himself as a carpenter
Master Red Way
Learn to cook well (the "learn to cook" part of that has been achieved, anyway...)
Possibly get into politics some day

Rizula:
Get rich
Rob a noble
Own ten times her weight in fine jewelry
Learn to fight like a ninja. Even though there are no ninjas in Yliakum. Whatever, you know what I mean
Acquire her own personal hideout
Work her way up in the Outlaws

Me:
Roleplay more
Roleplay with more people
Polish writing/RP skills until they are absolutely godly
Roleplay more
Start an epic plot that people talk about for years
Roleplay more
Play a legit BlackFlame character
Roleplay more
Get Deror performing in at least one more play
...and then roleplay some more.

For my characters it's real simple:

Aramara:
-Live life in Xiosia's image.

Icerra:
-Be the death of Aramara

Me:
-Go deep. Go real deep.
-For all the joy that this game and the player community has given me, give back ten fold.
-Play a Dwarf.
-Play a Kran.
-Get at least one other person to play this game and enjoy it. Honestly, I've talked about this game to many friends and family, and I've shared with them all the things I've created for the game, and they all seem to agree that it's something that I enjoy, but not one has shown any interest in giving it a try. I'd really like one to just give it a try.
-Develop something for PS that becomes part of the game officially, either artwork or maybe some canon stories for settings.

-Figure out who is causing the plague so she can burn them to death. Slowly.
-Find her fiance and foce him to finally marry her.
-Become a master in sword use and continue honing her skills with red way.
-Work on temper management
-Give Caraick more noogies
-Give Timil some noogies too
-Out-snark Travosh (or force him to admit he doesn't loath her)
-Have more long drawn out conversations with Teshia about (just about anything)
-Find Lazarene
-Get through Icerra's thick skull

Evirea:
-Find Barsidious
-Find Barsidious
-FIND BARSIDIOUS
-Torture cure someone who has the plague [X]
-Have another verbal duel with Eonwind
-Nab that journal Travosh has and read it (preferably without permanent maiming)
-Not die. (Dying would put an end to verbal dueling, and that would make her sad.  )
-Swallow her negative views of superstition and find out what's wrong with Esalir

Ziljhi:

-Defeat anonymous villain that has not yet been introduced and is part of a role play still being thought out
-Make Teshia endure a therapy session
-Figure out what the hell is up with this Ylia character
-Find out where Prost wound up and kick his evil ass
-Set up a firm in Hydlaa and gain the confidence and trust of the people

Barsidious:

-Kill Evirea
-Die

Teeleh:

-Wouldn't YOU like to know, mortal!
-(Stay pretty by eating people's souls)


Me:

-Roleplay
-Roleplay with as many people as humanely possible
-Create situations where roleplay shoots off into more roleplay and then splits into countless different vectors and makes MORE roleplay

4. Learn more self-defense skills.
5. Try to improve my reporting/writing skills.
6. Avoid getting my fingers broken...

2. Keep more up-to-date with what's happening ingame for stories to 'report' in the newspaper.
3. See how far I can push Sserp's character in his "nosey reporter" job without getting him killed.

*Convince Caraick to move to another level, thereby allowing herself to fade into nothing but memory.

Tessra:
*Marry Chays.
*Beat Monala in a fight.
*Eradicate the entire Enkidukai species/race.
*Not get caught for eradicating the entire Enkidukai race/species.

Lattia:
*Learn to read.
*Go to library and find a great book to read to Roled.

Sheffan:
*Sheffan wants to give pretttttty Pie-eating Kra a pie.  Pie with diamond. Sparkly pie.  Tasty pie.  Tasty pie make pretttttty Kra love Sheffan.  Sheffan marry pretttty Kra and gem.
*Sheffan wants to dig big hole.

Me:
*Win a PVP tournament by beating Caraick, Ikon and Kisoji
*Actually max something...anything...
*Have the most marriages by any one character in the history of Planeshift.
*RP the desecration of the remaining two temples/holy places I haven't already gotten to: Laanx's Temple and the Blackflame Temple.

There is so much with my characters I wish I could post, but I will instead let time reveal what it will for Wulfar, Aedrich, and Cayrn. There is so much more that has to be dug out, and I have dreamt these characters for years. Instead, I shall post my bucket list as a player, and as a nostalgist.

-Delve deep into PS's lore, even further. Immersion has been good, but in PS one has the chance to create lore as well. I wish to journey with a character farther into the aspects that they present then thought possible. It is a challenge to show the deep facets of the mind, but if I can, I wish to be that man. With previous characters I have explored the fears and hopes of Ylian citizens, but now I wish to be swept away by those same fears and hopes so that a singular character of mine can explore himself through the excellent RP of my peers.

-Continue lurking in this game beyond my years. Watch it grow, unfold, and blossom as it should.

-Re-visit the things that made this game great. Watch new players arrive and old players return when they realize there is magic here, real magic.

-Create meaningful relationships with each and every one of the characters I have. Emotions are a real thing, and I wish to see my characters struggle, hate, fight, love, long, die , lust, ascertain, and have a primal sense of reality to them, each uniquely separate from each other, but each complete.

-Enjoy a pizza on my day off.

[Caraick]

There's so many things on here that just make me cackle.  I'm going to snicker at a few, then post my own.

Teshia:

I've only done Caraick's. Let me preface that by saying that there's much more that he would like to accomplish, ICly, and continues to develop as a character even after over four years of playing.  Likewise for me as the player, there's so much more that I'd like to do with, for, and within this game. I find my time continuing to run short, and the list of things to accomplish only growing.


Caraick:

- Finish Mastering AW
- Foster honest and lasting friendships within the Adani, between the different races
- Create more involvement between the Order as a whole, and the community
- Speak with all of the Apprentices and Novices more often; and help in their training more directly
- See Timil to an Adani Knight, and beyond
- See Mariana to an Adani Master, and to the Adani Council
- Be present for Mariana's wedding
- Convince Mariana to open up as a friend, and trust him
- Speak to Travosh and Esalir more often
- Have a friendly conversation with Travosh
- Help Teshia become friends with Travosh once more
- Keep Teshia involved with what the Council is doing
- Find Teshia a new Apprentice
- Spend more time with Teshia and the cubs
- Spend much more time with Teshia and the cubs
- Take Teshia on a picnic
- Get girl advice from Monala
- Find some closure with Zalya
- Get more girl advice from Aramara
- Recruit Halbor (C'mon, Halbor! )
