Walking speed

We are checking now what's the problem with strafe, should be easy to fix.

About the walking speed, the current one is much more realistic and natural, if you see wrong movement means your update didn't complete properly, and you are using the old art with the new server, which will surely produce very weird result.

I completely and utterly disagree. It looks bad. Also, it completely undoes all the progress you made in making Hydlaa less laggy. It now takes me longer to walk from place to place, even though I'm no longer experiencing lag. The speed is arbitrary, not natural. The whole decision to do this seems arbitrary. Now you will see an influx of people running from place to place, which IS unnatural. I've already seen an increase of people mounting rivnaks just to go from the furnace to the tavern. THAT is unnatural.

I did a fresh install from the torrent, so all my art and animations should be up to date. The problem is, the animation is set for the old walking speed, so now it looks like my fenkis are seriously struggling to move forward. The distance the foot moves with each step should equal the displacement of the body, but the discrepancy there is just glaring.

It doesn't look good and it no longer feels natural. I can understand I guess your reasoning to do it, but the result is a failure.
all blessings to the assembled devotees.

I mean, how could you even... I don't...

Come on; I always found the walking speed ridiculously slow. No one walks THAT slow, not to go somewhere. And now guess what, it's even slower.
This is plain ridiculous, I do hope you realise it.

To me it looks like everyone is now supposed to run (new default) while walking is meant to be used in rather rare occassions e.g. during a roleplay.
I just doubt that this would be decent for a game which's main feature is roleplaying.

(Apart from that it is a nice update!)
.....also a saddle that won't pinch the tail. One day!

Current walking speed is 1.4m/s , which is the normal walking speed of a human. The previous speed was 3m/s and was not allowing us to create proper animations for walk, causing the chars to slide on the ground all time. Now that we have the proper speed, we will be able to update the animations.

If you need to arrive quickly to a place, just run.

We will think if it makes sense to add a jogging speed for the future to give more variation, but at the moment is not in the plan.

Something is messed up with the jumping while running: I can't jump higher anymore. That means: I might get stuck in the sewers because I might be unable to climb the ladders, which really required running and jumping!

I will admit this: The walking animation looks much more realistic, given the animation of the character whilest moving.  However, it's very, very slow, considering the distances one usually would travel at a walking pace: i.e. to and from Harn's, to the tavern, etc.  A jogging pace would be very well received.
