@Aiwendil: I'm on macOS but, really, have no idea about how to compile PS on macs... (is there maybe any guide, somewhere)? So, of course, have no idea about what to do with the .patch file
Anyway, great avatar on minus.com
Well...you asked...so don't blame me later.

First off I have no experience with MacOS at all but from all the ranting I heard from people trying to compile PS on macs I can only figure it's a pain in the ass. That said there is of course a guide for compiling on macs:
http://planeshift.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/planeshift/trunk/docs/compiling.html (just select "Mac OSX" at the top). I have no clue how recent it is and if it works at all though. In general I would say it's probably better if you are either a developer or at least have some experience with fink and compiling other OS software on macs before you try. But that's of course only to prevent some frustration...if you feel adventurous try it by all means. No clue how helpful the people in #planeshift-build can be here but I'm sure they welcome everyone trying to do a mac build.
And thanks, I think the avatar fits me pretty well

*giggles*
Oh..and just because I noticed it..sorry, I wasn't aware that my wgetpaste(s) get removed on dpaste after some tima again but I can keep up the patch on minus.com so I hope that's not too much of a problem.
And while talking about player patches...feel free to vote on
http://bugs.hydlaaplaza.com/flyspray/index.php?task_id=5645 as well if that is now the only way to get any player patches included in PS. Also check the bugtracker as there are plenty other of player patches submitted in the last month from several people...they might need your vote too to help fixing PS.
Accepting valid complaints is part of good PR.
Didn't you know Ligh...I'm Aiwendil..by definition no complain of me can be valid.
And I'm not going to fight this battle a second time. Took long enough to get the
advanced tab completion and the
autoexec included...not going to do all that a second time just because the person I communicated most about this back then is not in charge anymore. It worked pretty well the last years. No big deal at all to add the
spellchecker or the
images in the help window...weltall even made a lot of good suggestion on how to improve it and usually committed my patches within two weeks. Same for bugfixes (
1,
2,
3,
4...). Usually was only a matter of explaining the problem to weltall and the next day the patch was included. But now you have to do "advertising" of your patches just that you are allowed to fix PS? WTF? I wonder how I should advertise a fix for a bug to make PS parse XML files the correct way to players so that they vote for it. (Not to mention why I should advertise it at all...I mean...everyone knowing me is fully aware of the fact that PR is not really a strong side of me

) But I get it...PS already has all the dev-manpower it needs...they can afford to ignore other help. So sorry people...have fun with the mess the crafting recipes are now...maybe in a decade or two you will get a perfectly working crafting system...until then just deal with the current mess.
