I am also interested in and hoping to help organize some of the Faire.  We are approaching th 6ixth? 7th? anniversary of the Knowledge Seekers, and soon to open our Ojaveda Campus of the University of Yliakum, so it would be great to be a part of the organizing and celebration.

How about your lurkers who wrote books and submitted them to the KS during the last 2-3 years process of getting them in game? In the past at Book Faires KS has organized some of you authors to do public readings of your work! Once the GMs set the date, I am willing to help organize such public readings, so be thinking, and or be writing. or be finding your copies of your stories, or be making some copies of your books to sell, whenever the fair is...
AND the idea of the performing arts fest too is a great idea! Are there musicians among you who are crafting music? AND we used to have storytelling nights too, so I am going to ask some of the oldbies especially- like Yahn "growing old in the Bloodstone Breathern" and all you others to think about telling some of your lore and stories too... 
This could be really fun and great opportunities for rp for the whole community! Please think about participating!

I, Yarir Bralos am pleased to announce our second book fair which has expanded to a Arts and Crafts fair.

On [November 17th between 20:00-22:00 GMT] me and my associate will again be setting up stalls. This time away from wonderful and generous Jayose and his library by the gates towards Ojaveda.

This time due to the popularity of the first fair we have arranged the supply of cooking, alchemy, tailoring equipment as well as a small stage for any who wish to perform or do readings.

Our books will be fair priced and I quote 'worth its weight in gold'.

Come and see the latest books that even Jayose has only got ahold of, thanks to me...!

We also welcome any and all that have books poems, stories or any other written work to come and join us and sell your works.

Time permitting we will also be looking at the other books people bring and depending on quality will give you the oppertinuty to add them to our ever growing and explanding collection!

DATE OF NEXT EVENT - NOVEMBER 17TH

So now for the OOC. I've spent the time since the last fair talking with players GMs and Devs about expanding this fair and this time we are making it a 'Arts and Crafts' fair to go along with the book fair.

As always the continuation of this will depend on player participation. If we spend ages setting this all up and for what ever reason 7 people stay and RP the rest just come-buy-leave then we may not put as much effort in next time. That being said the feed back I've had has been good and promising.

So we will have Sarva running the book stall as with last time. I will be walking about commenting on the books and answering any questions there may be as well as trying to drum up interest and to point out that I am collecting pieces of work to be included in the game proper.

Mordaan has said he will attend in the position of a Dev, he will be running a cooking stall where I hope he will talk cooking and will have a few 'special' items his character made for sale.

Eondwind has said he will attend and is happy to run an Alchemy stall, again possible selling a few 'special' potions his character has made.

We will also have a small stage and some leather working equipment in case a tailor player character turns up and wants to RP that or some people want to make small reading or perform music

All equipment should be functional during the event so you can actually make the items on the spot if you want to really RP cooking/making something fresh

IMPORTANT - 1: This event is for RP, not just to come and buy things from the Devs/GMs. If all you do is run up ask for 1 of every books you are likely to be charged A LOT of tria..... say 1.4 million EACH (am I joking? come and see). Those of you who RP with Sarva and/or myself about books will likely get a much better price when you ask to buy. And those that give pieces of work to me for submission into PlaneShift will likely get the best deal of all (not promising I will use anything/everything I get). Now I know some of you may not be the greatest word smiths so when I say RP... I MEAN ANY.. asking about book content, or looking over a book and asking a question about it, commenting on talk already going on about a book, referencing it against another book. Of course is you are really rude you will also likely be charged more or just have a book thrown at you. I hope the same can be said about the cooking and alchemy stalls whereby if you talk to the Devs running them you will get more for less than compared with not at RPing.

IMPORTANT - 2: Mordaan and Eonwind will be running their stalls UNTIL a player who wants to RP that skill come along, at which point the devs will take a back seat and will let the player run RP take the front seat. So if you are a cook or alchemist just come up and RP that you want to set up next to them and share the equipment and you will have full reign of what we set up. This will be true as long as there is space for another person to work.

AND the KS will offer prizes for other categories too, like most entertaining IC story, best tale of Lore from your Guild, and other competitions!

And if there is enough interest and help, musicians are also invited to perform for the FORMAL HOLIDAY DANCE to follow the FAIRE itself- get with your tailors and wear your finest! Again, the KS will offer prizes.... Lots of opportunities for role plays, and for meeting and befriending new folks in game.

Not sure I can make it, but, to be fair, I'm kinda skittish about doing the fair due to the whole RPing thing. Sorry to be a party pooper here, but nevertheless this is my concern. I typically specialize in RP items that barely sell if they sell at all. I don't feel like writing out whole books or something like it for this thing then standing around for 3 hours for no reason and no RP. And I've already done it not over here griping about imagined problems. It's already happened.

However, I was considering doing some short descriptions for items that could be sold with books to represent the items. We'll see, there are still a few week left until the fair. Maybe I will try to make stuff that other people can sell if I won't be around.

Thanks Venalan. This way I don't have to worry that I have to replace them all the time. I am surprised all 4 scrolls I put up that time were still left there.

So the first layout of the fair is done. Starting at the gate going clockwise we have, cooking set up, seating and pie competition tables, stage with seating, kiosk for the book merchant, alchemy set up.

The prize for the Audience Favorite Reader during the Book Faire portion, again sponsored by The KS School of Magicks, is 100,000 tria AND a rare enchanted blade! 

Voting for the Audience Favorite reader will be held during the Book Faire time (8 am to 10 am Pacific Time) and awarded just before the Pie Baking judging begins (10:30 am Pacific Time).  One vote per player attending the readings.
