PS crashes after starting, when im creating my character

I would like to play the game so bad but since i installed it on my ubuntu 11.10 it crashes over and over. That happens when im creating my character. I was able to try the tutorial once but after that day i couldnt play anymore. So i deleted the character and tried again but nothing...

I'm running PS with ubuntu 12.04 and I don't have your problems

Hello, it's quite a long time I don't use Linux, but I would like to try to help. First of all, I think you should install ATi's proprietary driver (i.e. the closed source ones), they have a good chance to work. After that what audio output are you using? I see you have 2 choice: the integrated audio device of your motherboard and the HDMI audio carrier of your graphic card. Can you disable one of them to see if something goes better? rmmod should be the command to do that.
