Indeed a nice work tman, especially the Crystal Way robe!  \\o// \\o//
It's a pity the robe isn't visible on all races... Enkidukai for example... but it's just an example! :innocent: :innocent:

I just realize that I wrote it in a mistakable way, even though I used quotations.

To say it clearer, I wound recommend not to add green to a "blue way" robe, to avoid confusion with "azure way" which is already more cyan (and therefore closer to green) than some pure blue. So if you wanted to use green areas, then possibly rather for the "azure way" robe than for the "blue way" robe.

I fully agree, LigH. So with "that azure" you referred to the art, I see.
Maybe a color scheme like OOOOOO for azure and OOOOOO for blue way will be easier to recognize.

You are not the first to think about making robe variations tman, and you won't be the last. The last word I got on the topic was the desired way to do this was with post processing. The same way that hair colour starts with one base image and 'shaders' change the colour based on character settings. My understanding is this would be less resources intensive than having potentially 100s of more individual textures/meshes loaded by the game each time you log in.

I however am after people who are interested in writing books and quests. I've had one person talk to me in game, and one person talk to me on IRC  \\o//. Lets hope they get involved and create something nice for all of us to enjoy.

* bilbous wonders if "Oh Shining Crystal" is complete.
Are limericks within settings? Blank verse? Iambic Pentameter?

I see what you're saying about the efficiency, but these 6 textures combined, when zipped, only take up 976 KB.  So, if colors were added for all currently available robes, it would add roughly 7 MB to the download, which is already around 1 GB.  That's an increase of less than 1 percent, and it would more than double the body customizations available to the player (right now we only have normal, LA, MA, HA, and one robe).

And of course, if there ever comes a time when PS can change the colors of clothing arbitrarily (which sounds like a long way off), they can always be deleted.

You can't teach a pig to sing.  It'll never work, and you'll annoy the pig.

For a size-efficient implementation, I would rather suggest to colorize robes with shader effects, like the hair, so it only requires one base texture per model. But it would require additional code, and maybe a kind of gloss-map texture, which can be at lower resolution.

YES!

Someone read the thread and sent me a book!

I have it, I'm busy finishing off the necessary refinements for the next release. But as soon as I'm done with them I will spend some time working on it with you.

Thank you very much Divod.
