RP interest poll on the Ring of Daggers

Hello Planeshift roleplayers,

The Ring of Daggers would be a weekly, nighttime event in the Arena. Two individuals enter a ring of daggers, pointy ends up or dug in the sand -- depending on whether the combatants want to or not -- and fight until submission. Or, the first to leave the Ring loses. Death matches must be confirmed with both people beforehand.

Note*: Matches are only fist against fist, magic against magic, or blade against blade. There is no crossover. No armor is allowed.

Fights are roleplayed, but players can also mutually opt to use mechanics. There will be gambling, and bookies. The Blood Tria Syndicate will run it. Drinks and food will be for sale at low costs as well. Characters can make grudge matches against each other to settle rivalries, jealousies or desires for revenge. There can be notoriety matches between well-known characters. There will be a social underground atmosphere. It's basically a Planeshift version of fight club with money involved.

You can partake as a fighter, gambler, and/or observer as you please! ICly, information will be passed around through word of mouth. Half a dozen people already expressed interest to me, but I'd like to see more of the community's opinion. More details to come. Ask questions as you please.

A weekly event : maybe it's too much to have one all week but we will only know after tests i guess !

-For RP-fight : The result will depend basically on my "real" char stats if i am right ? Or are we using dices to know who won and RP-it from A to Z ? (don't verbally kill me for that question, i am wondering wether a newcomer or relativly "weak" char could make it in or not.)
- Is there a system of reward for the winners ?
- Is it only a 1 vs 1 or are you up for some 2 vs 2 and more ? (RP-fight 2 vs 2 might be a bit messy tho.)

If the fight is roleplayed, then it is decided according to the player-characters. They should be in agreement over how the fight will be done. They can agree to a dice system, freestyle trusted roleplay, a planned outcome (if they so choose), and so forth. It entirely depends on what they like. I make no decision on how, as long as both players are in accord over how.

There is a system of reward for winners based on gambling outcomes and prizes. This is a roleplay event, and so 100,000 or 1 million prizes of tria will not be handed out, unless the gambling involves such amounts, which I doubt they will. We are working on the gambling system now, which I hope will be based on the IC economy versus OOC economy. More information will follow in the official post. Thank you for raising such a good point.

We will mostly do one on one fights for simplicity. Since more characters in an RP fight creates a slippery amount of complications, and often too much text to read, fights with more than two people will be limited. But they will happen, occasionally. However, mechanics fights can include more people generally, since it doesn't matter too much reading/simplicity-wise.

Not interesting at all for Boni, but for the player, sure. Let us see how this will turn out.

It's a cool idea Kull, but Rigwyn is not the best match for this as far as personality and demeanor go. If something is happening while this is on, he may lurk around and interact on the sides if there is reason.
