Help needed! EVERYONE please read.

Me and some friends from a different community are trying to put together an Ultima Online shard. We have everything we need except a host. Im asking anyone who might be interested in hosting a really nice shard for Ultima Online to contact me via messanger. I do not run the shard but will probably have a staff position in the shard. If you cant host or arnt interested, ask yourself if you know ANYONE who might be interested and direct them to me(internet friend, real life friend,whatever).

A little about this shard: It is a Roleplaying shard. which means roleplaying will be enforced. The shard will have very good scripts and dedicated staff members. It will have many different playable races.

So if you know anyone who might be interested in hosting the shard, direct them to me. Or if you yourself are interested, talk to me.

For those of you who have absolutely no clue what im talking about, you can ignore this entire thread ;)

hmmm ...if the server can run linux, i could maybe get you one from the cybercaffee i work at, but i\'d have to ask. but if i succede it would most probably be free of charge

how many players are we talking about here?

Well right now only about 10 or so people are involved. But the admin will advertise it on the UO top 200 as soon as we go public. That will surely attract a larger playerbase.

I will ask the admin if the server can run on linux. In the meantime we can talk further on a messanger.

ooh, that might be fun, ultima with few players... would it be free of charge? I can\'t take the blow of another monthly charge...
oh, and which update is it, I have lord blackthornes revenge somewhere...

by the way, I\'m massively bored with Asherons call, and my wife plays it, which is why I can\'t afford another fee... have to pay for hers, she don\'t know how to find free games over the net...

Yea itll be free to play on.

As for which update, I dont know. Its not the 3d version if thats what you mean. I have rennaisance and it works with that.

If you\'re interested with hosting it on Fragnetics I\'m open to suggestions. Importantly we would need to know what kind of load we are talking about and more details on the software (via a website with some tech specs) would be very useful. We run everything on Linux though, and our Singapore server might not be the most ideal place in terms of geographical location. If you\'re interested drop me an e-mail at chrischoo@fragnetics.com

I did a search on UO Server Software for Linux and have only managed to turn up Wolfpack Emu which has their website at http://www.wpdev.org . This could be useful for hook too although I haven\'t had the time to really go through the docs at all.

chris, offer is appreciated but we need something to run one of three things: runuo,sphere,pol.

EDIT: I spoke to the admin, we cannot use linux as the host\'s OS. We need either mac (macintosh) or pc.

Mac has come out with a very cool server line (I am trying to justify cost in order to get one without my having to pay for it) but remember mac is now a xNIX type.

macOS X yea, i know ...but UO was made before macOS X, and i\'ve never heard of a mac server ...well anyhow ...if you can run a server on win* you can run it on everything (think apache) :]

well, I decided to reinstall it, does anyone know of a free server I can play UO lbr on and do I have to be registered, I\'m trying to reopen my registration and it says my password is invalid... strange since I use the same password for everything...

not only that, but the password retrieval system isn\'t helpin either...

well, I don\'t know if it\'s gonna let me play at all, my cd\'s scratched, and it looks like one of the files that was damaged was essential for logging in... and NO I don\'t want to download it anywhere, I\'d be ninety before I got done with the dl
