Open market area

I know that there are open market events sometimes, but I was thinking that it would be interesting to have an area dedicated to open commerce. People could bring their own stalls and setup wherever they want. This would encourage trade RP, and it would require little to no rearranging. All that you would need to do is choose an open space (possibly slightly outside of a city if finding a place is a problem) and then promote the use of it for trade. There could be special events that take place there, such as having a GM merchant go there with some rare goods to sell, and maybe even some quest-like events in that area. If it's promoted enough, this idea could really help crafters develop an IC business, which would also help RP.

Nearly every city has a market area which are hardly ever used. Imo these markets are suitable for the purposes you describe.

Promotion of trade between players is something I promote whenever there is a context to do so.

In Gugrontid we have supported Illysia with setting up the exchange market. Everyone is free to join in with his/her/kra's own kiosk there aswell.

The GM team sets up extra kiosks from time to time for the so called 'player markets' and are often present with things such as 'Engravements', (IG) Book Sales, Trinket Shops etc.

There have been a few good traveling vendors that set-up in transient areas to vend their wares, I have parked Siteya on a rug in the plaza a few times with her books. I also encourage you to consider planning some markets, if you need any help Jaycol and I would both be helpful. Lastly with the Healers Council, in creating a space to do healing rps/clinics, start a medical library, the other possibility is to have a pharmacy, herbal...etc shop with the space, where folk can sell healing related items in the space, maybe coordinating this when there re open house clinics or travel it to markets...I would really enjoy being able to buy herbs in bulk and other herbal items/ingredients so I can grind herbs with my downtime, not needing to run around gathering, I know also, with alchemy it takes some animal parts that my chars cannot even look at sideways without running the wilderness with relentless beast in pursuit. I support more regular markets, so... be the change that you want to see, is my motto. o/
