Nouveau drivers and PlaneShift.[solved]

Hello ; )

I have fps falls in planeshift on max settings but its strange becouse i have 6gb of ram, i3 processor and GeForce 550Ti(1gb) graphics card, so fps falls in planeshift are strange... But i also use free drivers from package -> xf86-video-nouveau <- ; Im using arch-like distribution.And usage of cpu and ram is low so i think its fail of my graphics, what do you think - this is fault of nouveau drivers or something else ? And any ideas how to fix that, maybe some another package are need to install or something else ?

Yes in order to play Planeshift or any 3d with in linux you should use the nvidia driver as the nouveau driver does not support 3d capabilities.
Most distributions offer it in their package management system.

But my dont, i using 100% free distribution and i dont come here for advice to using non-free software - i dont wanna them. I stay with free drivers, i only had a question its fault of drivers, cuz i play redeclipse with this drivers and dont have falls But if somebody else have any ideas how to get better performance on free driver with this game im listening, but advices for close driver are useless greetings

@Edit -  i had some play with settings and... The fps-falling thing was a... a grass ;o So i think i can live without grass so its stay disabled and out of cities fps are cool always, and i can have higher settings, but i have still fps falls on some places in hydlaa plaza when i looking in way of tavern but it isnt that bad, now i playing on medium settings without grass and have only fps falls when i stay on hydlaa plaza and watching to the tavern so its really good

But anyway if somebody have good solution for better performance for planeshift on free drivers i always wait for nice ideas

Grass and shadows and weather have been performance issues for different hardware configurations.

By the way, current nouveau driver generations may not be much worse anymore in general. It will also depend on your specific chipset. Testing to disable or enable some of the graphics options in the launcher should bring valuable experience. Deleting the shader cache is not required often, but may sometimes be useful too.

Furthermore, if you have two possible GPUs (intel IGP + Nvidia dedicated), be certain which one is used while playing PlaneShift.

Hmm i have Intel motherboard with some intel integre graphics but what do u mean exacly ? in launcher i told here im chose my setting of things in ./pslaunch -> settings, nad its good there i think, but what do u mean in "(Intel IGP + Nvidia dedicated)" ? Planeshift can use my integre intel graphics card instead of my GeForcee ? How to check that, how to check what possible(nvidia or intel) is using on my planeshift ?

I know that some intel Core i# CPUs have an "Integrated Graphics Processor" too, they are not only the CPU. But you also seem to have a dedicated graphic chip, GeForce 550 Ti. It should be possible to set up which application can use which graphic chip: Either intel or Nvidia. But I don't know what to take care of, I don't have such a system.

So u think maybe planeshift using intel, hmmm strange, so i must ask somebody how to set and check that.

Okay i see, so i think this is all in this topic, i think its solved, and if somebody using free drivers(not nouveau drivers only)and wanna share his knowledge, i make new topic only for that.
