Moving placed items
« on: April 29, 2015, 04:11:40 am »
I forgot the command to move items once they are placed can anyone help?  I know /rotate will rotate items, but forgot the command that will move them up, down or laterally.  For instance; if I place a book on a table and want to move it up or down on the table top.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey indygo-
I'm not a techie- sorry. When you're in game you might a) ask in gossip channel and you may get an instant response from someone who knows and /or/ and  do the /who GM command and ask a GM if any are on, or send a petition to a GM while you're ig.

I don't know if the pswiki has such info on commands... but that's another idea

Finally I think it's something like /00, 00, 00  which represents degrees of axis of placement. Target the item, and do (something like this!) /00, 90, 00 to get a 90 degree orientation.... in lieu of someone answering who actually knows this, maybe at least you could play around with that and see if it works...

Good luck!

I think only GMs can do that Indy... unless they have changed that recently. To place lower or higher you have to drop it in the world lower or higher. If you need to get something higher than the surface you are placing it on, try placing more than one item. For instance. Place one book on a table, then place another book on top if it. When you remove the first book, the second should still be hovering in the same place.

I think /slide is gm only. But like Illysia said you can use other objects to help place your item .

I guess my memory is incorrect.  I could swear I used to move them after they were placed...  Thanks all!

I know this isn't what you're looking for, but if you want to place something on a table (or whatever) and don't want it half inside the table itself, you can use a second item to help get things the way  you want them.  For example, if you want a book to lie flat on a table, just place another book in roughly that spot.  The first book will be half inside the table, but when you place the second book on top of the first book the game will set it at a height where it's half way inside that first book.  Since they're the same width, the second book will be just about precisely resting on the table as it should be.  Remove that first book, and the second should look perfect.  You can muck about with orienting the first book if you don't want it to lie flat and it should still work.
