are you sure you\'re telling the right prize? i mean 8000? is more then 8000$ you know? ...i would never ever pay that much for a desktop PC ...maybe for a supercomputer to save mankind from aids :)

That is way too much money!  I could get a dedicated t3 line for 1 month with 32 statis ips or more and a new server with dual cpus for 8 grand.  Don\'t buy that pc, or you will lose a lot of money.  Money doesn\'t grow on trees.  If you have that much money, get a learning pc that you can tamper with, and put LINUX on!!  Then save the rest of the money for a LINUX Engineer\'s Degree!.

I don\'t quite understand where this $8,000 came from.
7,900 swedish crowns at a conversion rate of $1 US = 0.85 comes to a figure of US$ 929 (roughly).

Thats seems a bit more reasonable  ;)

Humm... I apologize, it was early, or very late. I was having a terrible hangover and I really felt like shit. My maths werent very accurate, and I also think I added one 0 to much :D .. anyways, I think Im going to buy it.

Its amazing first time I see so many people in a games forum talk about the greatness of linux ...

Bless you guys ... I also wanted to add ... If you are actually looking into programming and other computer related stuff. Linux is the best there is .. Because of its open source nature you will not only find the least used programming languages on it but you will also find the big mainstream programming languages such as C and Java... Just to mention even M$ languages are featured on web servers such as ASP ( ACTIVE SERVER PAGES) Although I love the flexability and stability of linux .
I also love the gaming world of windowz... Many people mention Bill gates as the source of all evil ... Well I don\'t . If it wasn\'t for him .. You guys wouldn\'t be on linux ...

Please note since you can get linux for free ( if you can download the whole thing) there is a very weak help area on it ..

So if your new I would ask you to keep a few of those 8000 and buy a linux Red hat distro. with the RHN on it ...


If you need any help we ( the linux family :P) will be happy to help ...

free linux distros and bad help? ...just check out the gentoo forums http://forums.gentoo.org ...if this isn\'t one of the best (and nicest) help forums ever to exist i\'ll eat a broomstick!!

RH never worked for me (tried it once or twice), being an ex-slacker and current enthusiastic gentooist.
