Charisma?
« on: February 10, 2002, 03:04:07 am »
How will the charisma stat help you in the game?
Since this is an online game, most characters will be player controlled, so a charisma stat seems kind of pointless.

i think charisma will help with the price of store items, and maybe determin good or evil ;) , when i think of charisma, i htink of bards, they are an example of a jack of all trades, charming, which they use to theive with.  to be convincing they use charisma, charisma(if u are confused ill understand if u skip the post) is like the ability to talk to people, bards could talk there way out of anything, and they could talk there way into anything

sorry if it made u more confused, but just think about this then: what else would u put in instead of charisma?

answer that lol

Since charisma is your ability to talk to people, I would think that your charisma would be determined by talking to people and by your behavior in general rather than a number. Unlike Computer controlled players, most people will respond to a persons behavior rather than a CH stat.

Well if you ever play AD&D and most table top and some rpg games charisma is rolled at the start.
Now this wouldnt change unless say you had you faced mashed.
The use of it is say you had very high charisma you could  almost charm people by you just looking at them.
women or men would swoon  all depends on what sex you are and with this it would be easy to gain infomation,or as a destraction say a guard.
Now say your outcome of your roll of the dice made you like John Meric(the elephant man)people would now look down at you lol or not at all and just wouldnt even see you there. They would just look past you.
So it would play a part some where in the game it would  depend on if they are going to put it in as a stat.
Just one more thing tho as there is going to be  many races what is good looking to one race is pig but ugly to another.eg: a elf my look good to a human  but to a kran what seems good looking is far from it.

brimstone thats a tabletop game tho......see in this game when people look at ur char they wont jsut see a number that represents ur charisma.....they wills e whatever ur char looks like....so how woul du implement charisma in this game? to me it dont seem worthwhile to add it to teh game.

CHARISMA WILL MOST LIKELY AFFECT THE PRICE OF ITEMS. think about it, have u ever seen a charming necromancer, but have u seen a charming bard? they would get item discounts, or maybe if u were in danger and u ran to city guards, depending on if u were evil or good they might help ya.(i know i know, i need to quit with this eq stuff)

Heh, how bout changing it to whether gods will save you or not :D (j/k)
When our hearts both beat in time,
There\'s magic in your smile,
It seems there\'s nothing we can\'t do.

And within your warm embrace,
My heart will find a place,
Even from afar,
Our love forever shall be, destiny.

charisma would be the basis of your social skills I imagine, i.e. bargaining, mesmerizing, hypnosis, performing (music you dummy), intimidating, ... and so on.  It really depends on weather or not this is mostly hack and slash, or more towards the social aspect and spying, politics, and such.
All right you primitive screwheads!  Listen up!
