UI mods...

How about for the upper left corner of the UI there should be a movable compass rose sort of like a radar it will show little circles or blipps for the people or monstars around you yet will only be like a resizable 2\" by 2\" square of the area you are in if you hit tab you could toggle this bigger for a bigger more detailed area of your surroundings sort of like the mini map of your world in sim city or in AoE it would show walls houses and obstacles as little dots or lines and would rotate according to where you are facing i know i was lost outside because i forgot which direction i was facing i was just walking arouond and a circle because i did not know which direction was forward...

how about if you right click on a person you get a menue that shows apersons IP, name guild and choces weather to open up a private chat tab on the chat box yes a TAB!!! how about having multiple conversations on one plane yet they are all tabbed so if you want to talk to dark rider click on his or her tab but if you want to message teh world click on teh main tab...

on the target window it should contain much more than a name it should be guild IP and should tell if the person is in conversation with another person or etc... ::

I think both a radar and a world map are good, and an outdoor overhead, but I think that an indoor overhead would ruin the entire point of dungeons. I\'ve always liked the idea of automapping features, but I\'ve got an idea about those too

I think there should be a mapping skill, the more points, the more your maps are detailed, and perhaps even more accurate, a low skill could show you offshoots to tunnels when there aren\'t any there, and such like that.

Good idea Tyger. This also opens up to a new job; Cartographer! You can sell maps to npcs and, of course, to pcs. I bet the explorers like that idea ;)

heh, yeah, but there would have to be some kind of restriction to it to keep someone from selling off every map in the game to everyone he knows. that would be a bit much. maybe a certain number of maps that can be transferred to a given player... don\'t know

This idea sound very good!
I don\'t think they should draw there own map but maybe that all players has a personal map of where they been and with the right skill you can export these into a map object that you can sell and other people can read in into their own personall map..
Put the pot down, no dont take another puff!, put it down. Thank you.

that sounds like a good way of trading maps. I still like my other ideas tho :(

;)

I\'ve been having ideas like this since I was around 7 or so, always wanted to be a developer myself, but all the magazines I read said that it was nearly impossible to get yourself into a developement team, so I lost hope. till my bro got himself ingratiated with the realms of torment team that is
if he can get into it, I know I can....

the compass is fine, but I think having a radar should be a special ability if you are a cartographer.

yeah I think the radar could be one of the perks of being a cartographer.. Also I would like the landscape of the game to be rather unknown in comparison to other mmorpgs where all the land is known and you can just get a map on a webpage that shows every little detail.. you can do this in Anarchy.. and I think that takes some of the mystical nature away from the games, you don\'t have the right feeling of exploring a totally unknown world...
