« on: July 01, 2003, 02:00:10 pm »
I m pretty sure there s ton of post that could prolly explain but i didnt find one .... so if u bored to reply just link sumething plz :D

ok, about the questions now ....

Why a free game?? i mean i understand the deep motivation but as all ppl i suppose that game take a lot of time to dev ... therefore i was wondering how can ppl live when they work on free games??

i dont find some pub announce spamming my screen either .... so what? Does that mean the feedback in any issue case would suffer some delay du to that point or what?

sorry to ask .. was just wondering...

Rgds.

well, first this is an open-source game project under the GPL license (read http://www.gnu.org/licenses ) and the devs aren\'t making it for money ...this game is just a hobby to them, they are either students or have other jobs IRL

spam? why? should it be there ...i feel quite comfortable without it

while I\'m in no way complaining, I don\'t see how, when Crystalblue come out and there are more players, the developers are going to pay for all the costs that will come with it. To be honest, I wouldn\'t mind buying the game, as long as there was no monthly fee.

yea, the server\'s the only expense here ...but i think donations could solve that (think pay-pal) ...the game will be free, there will be no monthly fee, that\'s what teh devs guarantied ...well in the future there might be also someone who would devote his PC to run as a server for PS ...who knows, but the game will stay free in any case :]

The server is also free for PS. The friendly people of http://www.fragnetics.com host it for us. And apart from the server there are little things that could cost money. The website is payed, but the banthwidth for the forum, who uses most of it, is also sponsored. There are just a lot of people who like PS\'s plans and motivation and they all try to help with what they can.
<Worf> These are the moments when my ego gets put back on the ground. I use linux for quite some time, and am soon 2 years maintainer of a linux distribution. I started to think I would be good at it. But then I tried to get planeshift running.
