Hmm... easy question :-D

Linux is my first choice, but I start to like MacOS (On the lab I
work we have MacOS 7.5, yeah I know it\'s old) also.

BeOS is also nice.

The OS I don\'t like is M$ Wincrap (See my sig).
Linux using communist; who hates windoze versions.

Right now I have winXP, but my all-time fav OS is win95, it NEVER crashed on me :)
Although, I\'ve never tried anything except win* and some cheap mac-thingy.
Browsing the forums when I\'m bored, nothing more.

Well I\'m sorry to say that it has been proved that Linux users were able to leave there pc\'s on for more than 3 years non-stop ...

Windows would crash every four minutes and sometimes wouldn\'t feel like starting...

Strange, I\'ve never had any problems with windows XP not starting, and it doesn\'t crash every four minutes like you say (I\'m not sure what you\'ve downloaded though)
You don\'t have to wait for patches like you have to if you use linux either, and about leaving your computer on for three years...LOL! :D

i use a dual-boot w98SE and WXP.
Windows XP is very stable, it is the best windows version yet.
I just didn\'t really like the new lay-out, but that can be easily changed so everything\'s ok there too.

Ofcourse the compatibility option for older programs is not as great as it should be. Most of the time old programs won\'t work on XP, not even with the compatibility tool. So that\'s why i have a copy of W98 installed aswell, if XP gives problems with an older program i can fall back to 98. Works pretty good.

Don\'t believe anyone who says XP sux, their opinion is clouded because they see the Microsoft logo and want to bash everything that has to do with Micro$oft. XP is pretty good, wouldn\'t say so if it wasn\'t.
But yeah, i do hate Bill Gates for killing DOS.

Well fan I was just joking about the 4 min thingi ... It is a FACT that windows ( ALL VERSIONS CRASH ) more often than Linux or Unix ....

If you don\'t believe me that a person had his linux box on for more than 3 years . I can quote it directly from a mag called Linux-Magazine ( You must of heard of it .. Its a british mag .. ) but I don\'t have it here its back home so wait 2 weeks and I\'ll get you the FULL article if you like so .....

who said anything about patches for linux ?? I used 7.3 Red hat and have not had a patch since I bought it .. If you mean a kernal update then your totally mistaken .. I have and you can quote me not had a patch even with my old 7.2 Red Hat distro ... Not a SINGLE patch that is ...

If you mean by patch as an application patch i.e. Opera or stuff like that then I would like to infrom you that more patches apear for windows than for linux ... For one reason .. Most of the applications on Linux are OPEN SOURCE .... so if you want to you can download the source and work on it ... Offcours theres the GPL and stuff to worry about that will not let you claim it as  your own work ....

P.S. I have a WIN XP working side by side with Red Hat ... I have  a brand new pc and it STILL CRASHES as it did with WIN 2000 as it did with WIN 98 ... Although linux DOES crash eventually it does NOT bring the WHOLE SYSTEM DOWN and displays the \"BLUE screen of DEATH\" as some call it.....

Win 98/me but I would like to switch to linux but 1) I don\'t know how to use it 2)i\'m scared i\'ll miss out on some kickass game that a stupid developer has made windows only if you could just convince all software developers to make for linux and windows then for sure i\'d jump on linux straight away :P

I dual-boot Win98 SE and Mandrake 9.0
I really like Linux but am still learning my way around.
I dislike Windows, but wine doesn\'t run everything. :(

I run both linux and Xp with linux my default boot option
I return on XP to be able to read some MSOffice files my school keeps sending me (open office reads most of the files but some xls files and powerpoint files with layouts will sometime suck big time so )
and also sometimes for gaming

as for PS i play under both linux and windows since, sometimes, getting stuck under one OS, I can unstuck from the other.

I must also mention that PS playability is better with win32 than with linux (for me at leat). Both in frame rates and in behaviour. (the linux mouselook fails pretty badly on me cf technical help -> mouselooking ) and of course all this on the same comp .

most of my work however is done on linux.
How should I know how it works?That\'s what developers are for.  I only tried it.
