Hmmm...Where to start. I guess I\'ll go for the most obvious points.
1. The best games on the GCN are not multiplatform. You must be confusing this with Xbox, whose first party games suckand whose third party games are on at least one other system. You will not find Zelda: The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Rogue Leader, RS III: Rebel Strike, etc. on any other console, so that moots your first point.
2. Rare. Not the company they once were. Unless you haven\'t heard, over half the original development left Rare to stay with Nintendo when they joined M$. The original Goldeneye team has broken off to create the Nintendo second-party Zoonami and the rest join Nintendo directly.
3. I agree that the lack of DVD functionality has a crippling effect on the GCN\'s worth, but you must also remember that it is selling for a sizably lower retail.
4. Sony is only on top because (A) they launched a full year ahead of the competition and (B) they had a large fan base from the PS1, due again to Nintendo being the second out the door with their N64 launch. The Xbox is selling on its power and do-everything features. These are good, but they drive console prices up. (Yes it is true that M$ is taking a financial loss on every console sold.)
5. The Next Gen systems will have a much tighter race as Nintendo is scheduled to launch their console (Official Codename N5) first, Sony\'s will have their Do-absolutely-everything CELL powered PS3 out at a disgustingly high retail, and the Xbox 2 will only have Halo 2 to show for it.
It\'s gonna be a rough road, but Nintendo will not fall. Mark my words.
