Ok, I finally downloaded this program up, Got the setup going, followed the step-by-step instructions, got everything running exept now the problem comes up! So, I decided to come here to figure this out.
The problem-
When I try to connect my character to the server or while its in the process od connecting, or somewhere around there, it does the one of the following:
-Messes up and turns my desktop into a completely black screen and aster like 5 min. it closes down on me
-Sometimes it says my database is wrong or something (Common problem)
-Freezes up my computer and never moves....I actually waited over night for this! It doesnt do anything!
Btw, I use windows 98 if that helps at all...

Oh yea, I also delted my account like 5 times and it comes up with the same thing. But, never done it fast.... Testing....
Edit- Ok, I tested that. Now it comes up with \"Already connected to server, if you were disconnected wait 80 sec. and reconnect\". -That was prbably when I kept trying. So, what do I do now?
Edit! I figured something out that may resort to my type of probelm. I read the linked thread made by the first person who has posted. I can now understand another reason why people cant get through step d!
Ok, here it goes.
a) you upload your character
b) the server gets this message and creates the account for it
c) the server sends a message back
d) the client gets this message
e) the client sends the player create information
f) the server creates the player
Whoever has a private network (In their IP address there should be X.XXX not XXX.XXX at the end), then those people cant do step d or e.
For people who dont know what a private network is-
A private network is usually made when you have more than one computer in your house or if you share your modem with another computer (Very common). This is to protect your network from other networks around the net. When you share a file no one can see that file but the computer your modem is shared with or whoever is allowed to connect to your computer. For most people who cannot create servers is other online games, you probably have a private network because you cannot send things to other computer inless you have a certain device.
So, in other words, people with private networks may not be able to go through step d and e so, this may result to creating account pproblems.
Wow, I didnt even notice I wrote this much. Well, I hope that helps solve some problems. And remember, stop thinking its all firewalls. I dont even have a fire wall and people are telling me that the problem! Well, hope you can fix that up for these people...
