Shangs List of ideas
« on: July 19, 2003, 06:32:13 am »
This is my second day playing plainshift and the graphics are great even though its pre-alpha and yu cant fight. Here is a list of things i would like to see.

1.Cloaks and Capes
2.Faster crystal spawn and respawn especailly since people are rapidly joining the game.
3.Actually Armorers and Blacksmiths in town instead of going to a site.
4.A little more character creation options when choosing the cloths.
5.Choosing a face in creation.
6.Make a few houses open to go in like a tavern.
7.Cooking stoves and ovens

I know its only pre-alpha but these are just ideas when you have the time and maybe add when alpha is out.

TTYL everyone

1.Cloaks and Capes

Capes are dumb

2.Faster crystal spawn and respawn especailly since people are rapidly joining the game.

I think this is being worked on, not sure.

3.Actually Armorers and Blacksmiths in town instead of going to a site.

I very much doubt they plan on leaving the website interface, just haven\'t had the time to insert the NPCs for it.

4.A little more character creation options when choosing the cloths.

No, everyone should be a clone.

5.Choosing a face in creation.

Maybe add a few more

6.Make a few houses open to go in like a tavern.

There is a tavern.

7.Cooking stoves and ovens

When cooking is implemented I\'m sure this will happen.

Capes are what make or break a game.

not really, but I love capes :)

which brings me to an old idea!

Could we some how create a system so that guild can have their \"logo\" put on a cape, then the master would hand them out?

God Bless,

i see alot of opinions about the capes lol i think there a good detail to add and it would be nice to have your own coat of arms or a symbol for your guild on a cape.

There should be a place in game (maybe just a very simple Draw program) so that people can make their own symbols for shields etc - it would cost money of course to have syboms painted on anything.

Cloaks Rule!!!

and uh... why do you want stoves... food???  *shes away uneasily* we don\'t need food there is nothing more ANNOYINGLY realistic than being forced to eat every 1/3 of the day - everyone would become a monk simply so that they could fast and eat one meal a week :)

Whats wrong with having food in the game? If you are hungry, you\'re strength is slowly decreasing, until you eat again. I like it.
Browsing the forums when I\'m bored, nothing more.

food in real life i s good... food in a game should be optional - if you don\'t want to have to deal with repetive, monotonous tasks such as feeding yourself - you really should be able to turn off the \'slow hunger\' effect you want Cal

I agree, stuff like that is just not fun. Yes, it\'s realistic, but so is having to go to the toilet. If PlaneShift dictates that we must eat, then I say we should have to relieve ourselves as a result.

By the way, by no way do I like the above idea. I\'m saying, if you want to be realistic, you can\'t have one thing and not the other.

Did any of you play Black and White? In that game you were given an animal to train and fight by your side. The downside was... you had to feed him. OMG--- mine (a tiger naturally) ate and ate and ate.. and if I didn\'t feed him when he was hungry, he would decide to go for the people in the villages and eat them! ( You didn\'t want your animal to eat your worshippers!) Anyway, I found this very tedious and I quit playing the game before I was able to conquer the next territory =\\.

hehe, I know what you mean - but the difference is your animal had a mind of it\'s own - can you imagine how much worse black and white qwould have been if your animal lacked AI and you had to tell it exactly when, what, and where to eat every time!?!

Ah, that reminds me of my B&W ape \"Max\".
I wanted him to be some sort of vegetarian monkey who just ate plants and was nice to the people.
Sadly \"Max\" turned out to be an evil man-eating beast who loved my people in another way than I wanted, so when I wasn\'t looking he ate my whole villiage and pooped on the houses. When I came back he just gave me that innocent grin, I pet him, and he thought he had done something good.
This resulted in \"Max\" being fat and lazy and my poor people were reduced dramatically (well, at least they didn\'t whine about food and offspring anymore).

I renamed my ape \"Hungry, hungry Homer\"

BTW. I think a hunger-meter would be the best. Have you ever played dungeon-master II? It worked perfectly there.

You guys... don\'t know how to train a decent Creature, eh? ;) From the very first moment he\'s born you should teach him basic things like that... their capacity to learn slows as they age, you know. I usually had mine completely taught before 15, even as far as knowing how to Megablast Increase the enemy temple from my side of the map. Ahh... nostalgic times... I spent two years in that community! :D

Ahem, anyway, should go on topic now. Yes, in B&W feeding was annoying. In any game I\'ve ever played that requires you to consume food, it was annoying. I\'ll be suprised if PlaneShift can pull it off in a non-annoying way, but I really can\'t see that happening IMHO.

Well im sure they could ....... there are some people that can go days without food like monks amagine how long the other races could go without food. It would only make sense anyway how are butchers, fisherman, cooks, and most farmers suppose to make profit in the game besides doing quests?
